It wasn't often that rufus would consider killing one of his own bodyguards; one of his beloved Turks. However, his place of power dictated that some forms of punishment be given.

Mulling ideas over in his head, a plan began to formulate and come to fruition. It was perfect really and he almost chastised himself for not coming up with it sooner.

If he could survive the day, then he would be forgiven and if for some reason he ended up dead, then he would need to find another Turk.

Now he just needed to summon the poor man in.

Everyone else had died eons ago, he thought. There had been men and women, who he’d fought beside and cared for. There had been children, who had grown into adults.

He remembered Red XIII and Vincent best. Red had died from old age, and Vincent had eventually taken his own life before his demons could do the job.

Now here he stood and looked up as Omega Weapon finally spread its wings at the proper time. Gaia was dead, and it was time to bring the Lifestream to the next planet. Cloud closed his eyes, and let himself die.

Cloud had slain his beast, and his angel; but there was still a bit of Sephiroth left, hidden deep away since his first death at Nibelheim, and it was the General's original shredded heart that reached out.

Do not leave this unfinished.

Cloud came willingly- not the unknowing willingness of the puppet, but that of the clear-eyed man who had chosen, long ago, to follow him, and had never strayed. Sephiroth smiled, and took up his sword for the last time.

Cloud struck first...

...and with a thousand cuts, brought it to an end.

It seems evident to me that everyone has an interest in Cloud!  SOLDIER wants to off him with 60 points (they keep the trophy for another week, by the way). The Turks wouldn't mind a little help from him with 50 points.  And then there's Tifa grabbing that 40 points with Cloud's loyalty.

This week's prompt is #59 - Kill a Character

That's right!  We're going to kill someone off this week.

You know that you've always wanted to do it - so who will it be?  Will you off Reno in an explosion?  Have Vincent killed with a gun in the study by...Lucrezia?  Have a marksman assassinate Sephiroth from behind a curtain? Peek in on Cid in his death bed at the age of 85? Or will you kill Cloud off in a freak chocobo race accident?

Whether Tifa is remembering a fallen comrade, you just want Rufus to get what he deserves or you are rewriting the Zack's death - kill off a character, but do it in just 100 words!
