Sephiroth read without stopping for three days. There was so much information to process, so many things he had never known.

Like the other experiments, the ones deemed too unstable in some way.

He prowled the cellars for hours to locate their hiding places. He found one and studied the symbol on the containment unit: a dragon spitting fire.

She was slender with Wutian features and eyes that blazed with mako and insanity. Her flames were so intense they were blue. She laughed at the destruction, cackling with glee.

She was crazy, this Azula, but she was useful to him.

Fire made him nervous, which was stupid, he knew, but he couldn't help it. Something primitive started jumping up and down and screamed it's head off when anything bigger than a match was lit. He would take the first watches of the night and then go sit on the very edge of the camp, so that he didn't have to watch the fire. The first time Aerith had cast a medium level Fire spell on a monster, he barely managed to not scream like a frightened child.

But when you've watched your home town burn, you tend to have issues.

Reno was in shock as the helicopter lifted free of Northern Crater. He glanced to his right, where Jenova's head gruesomely glared back. Shivering, he flung his jacket over it.

Mission accomplished. But at what cost? Reno could still hear Elena and Tseng's screams over the rapid fire of guns.

Red flashed on the control panel. A fire started by a clone's lucky shot had blown the stabilizer. Reno felt the chopper take a sudden plunge.

He woke to crimson eyes. Sitting up, Reno searched for Jenova.

"It's there," Valentine said, nodding toward the wrapped bundle. "Tell me what happened."

When it comes to choosing life, the Turks have a tremendous will to survive. Saving their asses gave them 30 points last week.  Avalanche and SOLDIER each garnered 10 points for themselves, but then, they frequently seem to be on the firing line.

The prompt for this week is #10 - Fire 

Fire.  It burns, it smolders, it crackles, it glows.  It can be essential for cooking, giving warmth to a cold soul or used to kill.  It can sometimes be defined as a form of passion or enthusiasm - like a fire in your gut (but then, that could be just indigestion). Arsonists use it to get a cheap thrill, firemen try to put it out, glassblowers use it as part of the creation process.
