Don't Talk to Strangers

Title: Don't Talk to Strangers
Characters: Barrett, Marlene
Rating: PG
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: This is set after the gang's stint at that lovely desert prison. I noticed that Barrett kinda became distant from Marlene, which is what inspired this.

He couldn't look at his reflection in the mirror after what had happened in the desert. His long time friend... He was really gone this time. Even worst, he knew he'd never be able to look at Marlene the same. She was never his daughter to begin with, but in the time he had taken care of her, Barrett had psyched himself out to believe that she was, in a way.

"Daddy?" She said, tugging at his arm.

Tears in his eyes as he looked away from her innocent eyes. "Daddy told you not to talk to strangers. Run along."

A Brief Bout of Procrastination

Title: A Brief Bout of Procrastination
Characters/Pairings: Tifa/Yuffie
Rating/Type: PG
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Of course, I put this off until the last minute, in the spirit of the prompt! :\ I'm thinking of making this longer. >.> Though it'll probably be all smutty...

She knew that she had to get up, but Yuffie was prone to bouts of procrastination. The kind that could last for days if she let it. Tifa watched from the doorway.

"Do I have to drag you out of bed again?"

Yuffie only covered her head with the blanket. Sighing, Tifa approached the bed, and in one swift she yanked the blanket off the bed. The younger woman growled as a draft caught her barely clan skin.

"I'm not getting up." She pouted.

"Then I guess I'll have to bathe alone today..." Tifa sighed, sadly.

"Fine! You win, okay?"

Ghost of the Past / Ghost in My Bed

Title: Ghost of the Past
Characters/Pairings: Vincent
Rating/Type: G
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: I went with a more methodical meaning to 'ghosts'.

Staring into the mirror before him, Vincent thought of the past he once had. It felt so long ago, but was it really? He could scarcely remember anymore. Time seemed to have been merciful enough to him to keep his memories of the past at the very border of his mind. They were there, but they were nearly impossible to recall most times. Quietly studying his face in the mirror, he jumped. The ghostly form of a young man had appeared and disappeared. It took him a moment to realize it was a ghost of who he had once been.

Title: Ghost in My Bed
Characters/Pairings: Tifa/Yuffie
Rating/Type: PG
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Creepy~

A touch at her shoulder made Tifa nearly fall out of her bed. Groggy, she tried to focus on what had awoken her, but it was too dark to see.

"Tifa?" A small voice asked, standing somewhere to her left.

"Yuffie?" Tifa's voice was heavy with sleep.

"Can I sleep with you? There's a ghost in my room."

Sighing, Tifa moved over. "Come on."

The bed shifted under Yuffie's weight. Falling back to sleep, Tifa shifted, her hand hitting the spot where Yuffie laid. Only, her hand hit air. Exploring, she realized that no one was laying next to her.

Who He Is

Title: Who He Is
Characters/Pairings: Barrett
Rating/Type: G
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: o.o No yuri. >< Damn. Enjoy anyway.

He was all fire and anger. Something he held on to that defined him. Helped him wake up and face the next day. However, it wasn't him. A mask to protect himself from the harshness life had showed him. There was a time, so long ago that it could've been just a dream, when Barrett was different. Then, he was softer, more vulnerable to the world around him. What changed? Was it a constant feeling of loneliness that followed him like a plague? He wasn't sure. Whoever he had been, he had closed him away, unable to bear the pain.

Practice

Title: Practice
Characters/Pairings: Tifa/Yuffie
Rating/Type: PG
Team: SOLDIER
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: ^_^ My first prompt here! >< This drabble was hard to cut down to just 100 words. The idea here is that not all first kisses go according to plan. Sometimes, at all.

Tifa couldn't believe what she'd just heard.

"You've never been kissed?" The words didn't sound real.

For once quiet, Yuffie shook her head and chewed her lip in embarrassment. She hadn't meant to say anything, but Tifa had asked and she couldn't find the words to lie - for once. Awkward silence, then Yuffie hesitantly grabbed the other woman's shoulders.

"Could I...? Just to... Practice?" The look in her eyes was child-like.

Surprised, Tifa nodded dumbly, unaware of doing so. Leaning over, Yuffie closed her eyes and promptly banged her forehead into Tifa's nose.

"Eh, you missed."

Yuffie only laughed.
