Nanaki had begun to believe that he was grasping the ways of the two legged ones. It wasnt that much different than the ways of his people, but there were some vast oddities.

Like when he wandered into the room Cloud was staying in, to find the blonde man wearing an ill fitting pink dress, his cheeks almost entirely the same color.

If this wasnt odd enough, it was the girl, the Ancient dressed in Cloud's own SOLDIER uniform, spanking him with the buster sword.

There were things about humans that he just would never understand.

And never speak of.

That had always been perfectly obvious to Aeris, but twelve and thirteen respectively, she and her best - only, really - friend had slightly different ideas about boys. "Oh, come on," the giggly blonde teased, "he's always following you around. He totally wants to ask you out, Aeris."

Aeris rolled her eyes and struggled to find a way to explain that wouldn't give anything away. "He's a Turk," she tried. "They just don't give up."

Her friend's eyes shone. "How romantic," she sighed, and giggled again.

Aeris groaned and thumped her head on the table.

Lord Godo held his teacup steady as his daughter stormed into his chambers, resplendent in the silk robes of a princess, wooden geta gouging into the tatami. "You're to be entertaining your guest, Yuffie."

"Guest, my ass!" Yuffie snarled. "That asshole - I swear, every suitor you pick is worse than the last! I dunno where you get these-!"

Godo closed his eyes and took another sip of his tea. He didn't think it was overly burdensome for Yuffie to start considering suitors now that she was eighteen, but perhaps he expected too much of the men of Wutai.
