Fortune Comes on Yellow Wings / The Monster / Love, Glory and Kupo Nuts
Title: Fortune Comes on Yellow Wings
Characters/Pairings: Cid, Shera, a chocobo
Team: Avalanche
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: For prompt: superstition.

The big yellow bird yanked another chunk of plant life out of Cid's backyard and munched contentedly, feathers fluffed against the early morning chill. "A chocobo!" Shera breathed, peering out the kitchen window while Cid nursed his second cup of Mideel looseleaf black tea. "The wild ones are good luck."

"Gimme a break," Cid snorted. Shera huffed and left the heathen nonbeliever to his tea.

But later, when he made a major breakthrough in his rocket's engine and didn't lose a hand in the process, he wondered about the possibility of planting a crop of Sylkis greens in the backyard.

Title: The Monster
Characters/Pairings: Midgar
Team: Avalanche
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: For prompt: anthropomorphism.

It never truly sleeps: the eerie green glow thrown against the night sky is proof enough of that. While humans are slave to the ancient rhythms of their flesh, its own rhythm never ceases and never changes. It feeds constantly, on despair, on hunger, on violence and greed. As its inhabitants go about their lives, stealing their survival any way they can, they become extensions of the city's endless avarice. The pain they inflict becomes a sacrifice to their metal mother.

The city nurtures you, cradles you, and then it consumes you. This is the beast that men call Midgar.

Title: Love, Glory and Kupo Nuts
Characters/Pairings: Sephiroth, Cloud, Zack, and a moogle
Team: Avalanche
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: For prompt: anthropomorphism. Finally answering the question posed in the original prompt post. ;)

The room was warm and clean and smelled of kupo-nut pastries baking somewhere nearby. The queen lounged in her silken nest and watched with silent approval as, across the room, her friend and mightiest warrior moved through the steps of his kata. His hair was unbound and shone like water, like the eyes of the younger man who sat and watched in comfort and safety.

A third man knelt by her nest, violet eyes outshining the beauty of his loincloth-clad body. "Kupo-nut cocktail?"

The moogle sighed, holding onto the last wisps of the dream as long as she could. "Kupooo...."

"The Monster" in particular absolutely floored me. NICE work! I love that you wrote about the city, and your presentation was perfect. ^___^

*blush* Aww, thanks. ^_^ I've been trying to work on writing about setting as if it were another character, so.

*snickers at the last one* I want to be that moogle!

I like the one about Midgar. It's creepy, but so is that city.

And the first one just made me grin. Especially the part about Cid's tea.
