Being a wizard’s apprentice was a tiresome affair; however, to be considered part of the Council, one had to pass all trials posed by Master Hojo.

He was an eclectic wizard even by magical standards and most knew never to cross him. There were far too many that had simply disappeared in his chambers.

“Lady Lucretia, you are distracted.”

“This spell is tedious Master Hojo. I prefer the studies that involve the Elemental Creatures of our Realm.”

“Drink this and we shall all have what we most desire,” Hojo said, handing her a potion.

“What will this do?”

“Make history.”
