101, 102, 512, and 513 Tonight!
Just a reminder We (hopefully it'll be a we and not just an I) will be watching the beginning and the end tonight at [info]qaf_marathons.

I will get started at 8pm EST, watch 101 and 102 straight through. Then probably take a few minutes intermission and then watch 512 and 513 straight through starting at about 10pm EST.

Please join me! :D

And if you've never marathoned with me before just an fyi that I don't often get very deep with my comments, but you can feel free to. Or stay on the shallow end with me.

Why am I doing this? Because I have an urge to watch them both in one sitting and look at where they all started out and where they ended up without a ton of focus tonight on the hows and whys they got there.

CHANEL!
I can't handle the crowds on Black Friday, and besides, my holiday shopping, such as it is, is done. (We're buying for the kids only this year, due to the financial problems of one of my brothers).

So my sisters in law and I are going to see "Coco Before Chanel," while my brothers and their sons do their manly, boy-ly thing without us. And then this evening, [info]not_yet_defined is doing a marathon of 101-102 and 512-513 over at [info]qaf_marathons, so that's what I'll be doing when I get home!

See you then!

This scene always makes me melt.

So much so that just hearing the song in my ipod at work makes me melt.

Are you permanently insane? First person on my flist to respond to this post by NOON EST will get a permanently insane account from me. If you are already permanently insane. You can gift the account to one of your favorite QaF asylums like [info]qaf_drabbles or [info]bj_action, or any QaF asylum you like.

In return. You must post at least one fandom post today as well. A drabble. A vid. Some icons. A discussion at [info]qaf_coffeeclub. Whatever you like.

Happy Black Friday!

:D

Ready. Set. Go!

ETA: the most awesome [info]besamislabios won! and generously gifted the account to [info]bj_action in the hopes that it might see a little action soon. hmm...

I'm so full!!!!
Let's see..

Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, yams, ham, prime rib, cranberry sauce and deviled eggs.

I am 2 seconds from a nap.

Oh, and I'm in Oregon, and guess what???

It's raining. lol Ah, Oregon Liquid Sunshine, makes everything all green.

Hope everyone is having a great day, and if you don't celebrate...go stuff yourself anyway.

I love my flist. Many of you I've known for years, some just a few months. You guys make me laugh, make me think, make me crazy...and I wouldn't have it any other way.

*hugs teh flist*

Oh, and cause Mistress Bunny asked...

What Brian/Justin scene makes you melt?

There's several, but most of those are sexual. *g* However, this one is so schmooptastically delicious, you can't help but say, "Awwwwww."

I give you Chiquitita.

Shine once more, like you did before, sing a new song Chiquitita

The lyrics are very fitting for this scene, because Justin was still finding that thing that made him Sunshine. And Brian, well...Brian wanted to give him a dance that he'd remember.

Sigh.

The gif is from the lovely and talented [info]pfodge.

Happy Turkey And Pie Day!!!

What the Gusmas?
First, Happy Thanksgiving to all!

A couple of new fandom friends don't know the origin of the name of the current celebration in [info]qaf_drabbles , "Gusmas," so I thought I'd explain.

Once upon a time, four fangirls wrote a story together, and the unbelievable [info]url_girl illustrated it. (Well, we didn't write it, exactly -- it was divinely inspired, so it might be better said we channeled it.)

It was the story of Assbaby!Jesus (Gus for short), and of course, it's his birth we celebrate during the Solstikwanzanukkamas Season, which runs from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day.

Be warned if you choose to read this fic; you're sure to end up on the bus to the hot place if you do.

Tell me a scene that makes you melt. It has to be a scene that causes your heart to skip a beat every single time you watch it.

The scene that makes me melt every time I watch it is the Prom Dance scene. I love how close they are, Brian is leading Justin around the floor, so lovingly and they are sharing one of the most romantic moments; ridiculously romantic-Brian might quip. This scene also breaks my heart. I know what this scene caused (or at least helped provoke) and that kills me. I have a really hard time watching 122 because of the ending, I know that it is so real, and it very easily could be someone I love and care about.

This episode, for me, feels like being pushed off a cliff. It is so sweet with the dance, I am so happy for them and I wish I could be one of them, either of them for just a minute. Then I get shoved off the cliff and I am practically in tears and feel sick to my stomach.

I can't believe I've only posted like 3 times this month (not including posts in the asylums). I don't think this has ever happened before except for when I first started a journal.

Champ continues to improve. His last test results were so much better and so much closer to the normal range that I cried a little on the way home. Plus, in one week, he gained 13 ounces. So, I've decided to go ahead with my vacation plans (which I sorely need at this point). My sister is planning something special for my 40th and a dear friend is coming into town. After that, we're heading out on a road trip ending in a spa for a couple of days in Vermont. From there, we'll part company and I'll continue on to my sister's for Reason's first birthday. I'll be a few days early, but we're going to celebrate anyway.

I can finally get excited because I found someone to stay with Charger and Champ on top of my sis checking in on them.

I also decided not to cook dinner this year for Thanksgiving. I cheated and bought everything pre-made and I'm so happy about it. I'll have time to do the things I want to do. Happy sigh.

On a fandom note, I want to know something. Tell me a scene that makes you melt. It has to be a scene that causes your heart to skip a beat every single time you watch it. Post about it in your journal...or here in comments. I can't wait to see what you've got for me. :D

Marathon - Friday night
I'm going to be home alone friday night and think I'd like to watch a few episodes.

Anybody want to join me?? I was thinking of doing 101, 102, 512 and 513. I like the idea of doing the beginning and the end back to back. I would probably start at 8pm EST.

:D Please let me know if there is any interest in this.

Mid-week Hilarity
While attempting to avoid actually doing work, as per usual, I found two particularly wonderful YouTube videos. The first is by far my favorite. Hal Sparks is the officiant for a faux lesbian wedding in CA. It was a launch for a new equality clothing line, "All Love is Equal". It is very well done. And the brides even exchange rings...or more hoops (hula hoops).

The second one I found was the decade in 7 minutes. Its brilliantly done and hilarious. Although it is really scary to think that the decade is all but over...

Making Traditional Cramberry Sauce, with Kaya and Rebecca )

They really were. I felt like an idiot when I realized that, because, duh, who else would've invented it? The cranberry bogs have always been here, and coastal New England has most of them. Apparently, those maple sugar soaked nuts they sell at fairs are also an Algonquin recipe.

I have finally finished part one of my Grad School application. I needed to create a "writing sample", basically proving that I can write semi-intelligently. It is 14 pages long (if someone would like to tear it apart read/edit it for me, I would more than appreciate having another set of eyes looking at it) and talking about nostalgia for the former East Germany, in particular two films that came out about 10 years ago.

Now I just need to write my personal statement, outlining what I want to do and why, and exactly why I'm awesome, amazing, and wonderful a good candidate, so they will give me lots of money to go there! I have to fill out 6 applications and remind my recommendation letter writers to get them done and submit them. But I'm very excited because the hardest part is done, well besides fixing it.

I'm also hoping to have time to write my idea for [info]_alicesprings Friends and Lovers Challenge. We'll see, sadly applying for Grad school has to come first. I am completely stumped for my Christmas Xchange present, I understand what my person wants but I can't find a logical situation to get it there. Can I bounce ideas off of anyone?

So that's the criteria?
So, Fanthropology lists articles that mentioned fanfic during the week. It's usually pretty awful, because "fanfiction" is a joke to legitimate writers and media people, the word to them equals either "terrible writing produced by crazy people with nothing better to do with their time" OR it equals "brand new and fascinating but slightly worrying phenomenon that I either can't fathom or I want a piece of".

But this week's had a baffling quote that described people who can list their favorite Harry Potter books in order as "hard core fans".

Because, I mean, wow. Who else but a hard core Harry Potter obsessive actually has favorites in the series and like, knows all the titles in order?

That's just not normal.

So I am using this one because it is fun. :3 :3 ;3

Dear Muses,

Now that I'm starting on the Zero Princess Saga/Void Space Saga/Whatever the hell you want to call this series, Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, turn this into Viceroyverse done Kairi/Rinoa Style.

Please. I don't care how well it works, I don't care that it works on a multitude of levels. I don't care if it'd be cute (and about a quarter as creepy as Quistis/Kairi is!). I don't care if it makes a lot more sense than any other Kairi pairing in existence, Sora/Kairi included. But the Nonsense of Sora/Kairi is another show rant. Aaaanyway, no one would read it.

Even if it is a really good idea--

No. No. If you try and steer it in that direction, and we know that the one-sided Rinoa/Kairi in Braceletverse is enough, I will turn this brain around and write...umm...

I WILL MAKE US WRITE MPREG. SORA/KAIRI MPREG. HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!?

No love,
Jordi.
