Before the game today, the winners for Mr. and Miss Hogwarts were announced! Each winner receives 10 galleons as well as their crown, sash, and bouquet. First runner ups will receive 5 galleons. The winners will also help release the balls to start the game.

Sorry for my prolonged absence, everyone. I got busy with RL stuff, then pulled my shoulder, etc etc. Anyway, Elodie has been pretty much Elodie-like, and Jeremiah is pondering over a year abroad and continues to be in a river in Egypt over his feeeeelings for Rosalind.

Most pertinent, Elodie totally trolled the talent comp and sung "The song that never ends" until she got ushered offstage. She also wants to do a prank involving this song, since of course people want more of it. Any takers?

Hey guys! I just wanted to leave a quick heads up that I have a Relay for Life team and we're doing the event this weekend. So basically, we're camping out for the weekend doing fundraising for cancer research! But since we're camping and it's a group thing, I probably won't be around that much. And since it's my team, I'm going to be getting everything together the next few days. So, probably slow tonight and Friday, and then absent from Sat-Monday sometime. :)

Guess what guys? My thesis is done! Admittedly it is finals week, but senioritis has massively kicked in and because of some real life sadness, I really want to distract myself with RP. Of course, I will probably continue lurking in stealth mode on AIM a lot because I do still have things to do this week, BUT I am mostly back! And I am pretty much always online if you want to poke me. I am sorry for constantly disappearing in the past few weeks.

But basically, this is my call for plot~ If there is anything my kidlets need to know or something I forgot to respond to let me know! And I would also love love love to get more plot in general because I feel like I've got nothing now and that is unacceptable

As many of you have noted already, seventh years who have applied for jobs will have their interviews this week! A bunch of representatives from all different companies and departments will be on campus this week conducting interviews with applicants. Interviews will occur from 10 AM to 3 PM and they will last up to half an hour.

We have come up with a breakdown of the positions that your characters have shown particular interest in; if there are others you need added, please let us know! Quidditch positions have already had their interviews and made their offers, so they are not subject to this system. Information on positions and requirements was posted here, and if you haven’t already applied on behalf of your kids, you can do that here. Decision dates are scattered throughout the Upcoming Events calendar.

We have a Very Exciting Event coming up this weekend: the first annual Mr/Miss Hogwarts competition!

Here is how the competition will work: all contestants, in formal attire, will briefly (~30 seconds) introduce themselves to the audience and panel of judges, and will then participate in a talent competition. After those scores are calculated, the top contestants of each gender (3 or 5, depending on the number of entrants) will be required to answer a question on stage. The top scoring male and the top scoring female will be crowned Mr and Miss Hogwarts, respectively, and in addition to their crown will receive a bouquet of flowers, a sash, and 10 Galleons prize money. First runners-up will each receive 5 Galleons prize money.

Participation is open to all students 5th year and up, and all Quidditch players and support staff (foreign or Hogwarts) must participate. Contestants must declare their talent when they sign up.

Please comment below with your character’s name, the text of their introduction, and a brief description of how their talent portion went, if they are competing. We will put up a separate entry where you can go to vote for your favorite contenders (one vote per gender, please)!

Hi all! So in honor of Cinco de Mayo being last Saturday, Ruby has decided Hogwarts needs a little education on Mexican culture. Here are the things she has devised:

- Ruby will be speaking in Spanish (with a pronounced Mexican accent and vocabulary) all week (Monday morning to Friday afternoon) when not in class. She will be wearing a sign that she has charmed to read "Learn your translation spells or, better yet, learn Spanish!" in response to the 'what did you say?' questions.

- She has scattered various Mexican accoutrements around the castle: sombreros that, when put on, play music and cause one to break into a traditional Mexican dance; brightly colored sarapes that, while worn, cause the speaker to speak only in Spanish; and just three piñatas that shower bite-sized chili-chocolates that cause the eater to breathe fire for all of 15 seconds.

Hi everyone, this is Louis Weasley and he wants to be your friend. No really, he does. His bio is here and I've put his factsheet below the cut. He likes to get along with everyone and is pretty chill. He's super social so he needs friends, especially in his year. Don't worry if your character isn't at all like him because that will only make him more interested in what makes them tick. I'm especially keen to find out how the rest of his family like him, because he loves all of them to bits :-) Also let me know if you had any backstory with Rebekah's Louis and we can see what we can keep.

Attention all! Today (2 May) is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the defeat of Voldemort and the end of the Battle of Hogwarts.

Firstly, ALL CLASSES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. Yes, for everyone. Unfortunately, this is not a “free day.” At 10:00 AM, there will be a special history lecture in the morning by none other than Professor Minerva McGonagall, who has come back to Hogwarts specially for the occasion. Secondly, there will be a large contingent of Ministry officials and illustrious people (read: war heroes) milling about the castle all day, preparing for an afternoon two-hour memorial service by the lake—beginning at 1 PM and ending around 3 PM. It will be mostly a lot of speeches by current and former Ministry higher-ups (notably former Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt and current Minister of Magic Mafalda Hopkirk), as well as Neville Longbottom, Hermione Granger Weasley, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter himself. Some may find it boring, but the speeches will be incredibly poignant. Neville's speech will be about how the wizarding world found its courage and heart through that battle; Hermione's will be on how struggle against oppression is a universal endeavor and we must be careful never to be the oppressors ourselves; Ron's will be mostly firsthand stories of the battle and the journey to get to Hogwarts (please see: DH, and add in a healthy dose of Weasley embellishment); and Harry's will be focused on the long way the wizarding world has come since that day, and the journey it still has ahead of it. The service will be broadcast on the WWN to the wizarding world at large. Afterward, the student body will break into small groups of ten for an hour or so where they will talk about what this means for them/what has been the most significant aspect for them/where they think the wizarding world should go.

This evening, there will also be a special dinner in the Great Hall with the guests of honor mentioned above. The house-elves and other kitchen helpers really outdid themselves: it will be a feast to top all others (including Halloween, Christmas, etc.)—and a few special elves who were present in the castle twenty-five years ago and stayed to help will be singled out and honored. Note that we’re not doing this formally, but it is entirely possible with all the journalists hanging out that the children/nieces/nephews of war heroes may be approached and asked what this day means to them and how they feel about what their parents/aunts/uncles/etc contributed to wizarding history.

As many of you undoubtedly know today is a very special day. Not only is it the international Labor day (except in the US because we were afraid of commies) but more more importantly it is Jane's birthday. Her twenty-fifth, to be exact.

Hi, everyone. I am sorry I went and vanished on you like I did. I was on vacation and my life got crazy. I'm juggling many things - a full-time job, graduate school, being a People to People Primary, and ballet, as well as RP and attempting a social life. Basically, I failed to juggle everything and dropped the ball. I'M SORRY.


I would like to get back in the game with both of my characters (Amelia Tatting and Cielo Sanchez Vega) at least until the end of the school year. So, if there is anything my girls need to know or if you want to do anything with them, please let me know! I'd really appreciate it. ♥ Missed you!!

Okay, so y’all we have something else that we want your opinion on. We’ve been debating for months now what will happen when we reach the end of the school year. Our calendar stops in June, so it would behoove us to figure out now what we would like. Honestly, the reason we’re asking is that we think we’ve really hit the jackpot with a group of RPers and we’d love to try to keep writing with all of you. For the most part we’ve all have been incredibly drama-free, enthusiastic, and great writers and we would really be sad to lose this group. So with that in mind, we’ve come up with a few different options for the end of the school year, and we’d like to know your honest opinions (again, screened) about which, if any, you’d be interested in pursuing. All of these ideas are only half-formed, so if you have opinions (i.e., option X only IF …), please share. Also, if you have completely different ideas that you’d like to be public, let us know and we’ll unscreen your comment.

1) A straight continuation of the game and characters we have now. Seventh years would graduate and move on (playable or not?), and people would move up. We’d likely institute a sort of foreign exchange program to allow foreign characters to still be playable if you want them. The kicker here would be finding a through-line like the tournament that would make next year just as entertaining.

2) Skipping a few years and playing these characters as adults. We’ve tossed around some ideas for this, and though we haven’t gotten very far, we’re willing to keep doing so if this is something you’re interested in. We’re slightly concerned about plots outside Hogwarts, because we think in general it’s more difficult to do game-wide plot, but we are open to thoughts and ideas!

3) Skipping a few years and playing the next tournament. Because the tournament was intended to be played every 4 years, all of the current students will have graduated (and there may even be new leadership?), so this would allow all of us to examine the same premise from a different angle and with completely different characters, possibly centered at a different school (i.e., if you got an awesome idea for a Quidditch player during the course of the game, but the spot you wanted was taken, etc.). We are slightly less inclined to this simply because it’s a premise we’ve now all already done, but we thought we’d throw it out there.

4) We’re both sort of heavily invested in next-gen, but we are also totally open to another era. So this option is really “do you have any other awesome or fun ideas?” Incidentally, we could also do a next-next-gen and explore Hogwarts in the mid-21st century with the children of these characters. Just a thought.

Also, and ultimately, don’t feel obligated. There will be no hard feelings if you decide “know what, I think I might want to pursue other things for a bit after this game ends.” We’re totally fine with that and we’ll respect it. We just wanted to take a pulse check to see what people are thinking/if anyone else would like to try to keep the group together. And, you know, to decide how we’re going to wrap things up.
