In what seems to be a large-scale prank gone badly wrong, this morning found police divers investigating the death of a thirty three year old male, who had been working with a construction crew on repairs to the Brooklyn Bridge. He was found, his body badly mangled in the early hours of this morning after he had not reported back to work after lunch the previous day.
"It looked," said Carl Avery, 43 and a nearby resident, "Like something was actually in the water. All those sci-fi movies with stuff in the water, well this was real."
Police are investigating to ascertain whether a non-native reptile or mammal has been introduced to the water.
