Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:elphaba thropp, mei ling

Who: Mei Ling, Elphaba Thropp and possibly Aaron Littleton, Ji-Yeon Kwon (?)
Where: The "secret" house
When: Day Two, around noon

Mei Ling always thought that Ben was crazy. Anyone who took orders from an invisible man had to be crazy. Someone really needed to get off the island! But now she was fully convinced he was beyond a shadow of a doubt certifiably insane!

According to Ben, Jacob wanted the children of a few of the survivors to be brought to the island. Children that hadn't even been born yet! Which was why Mei Ling was currently pacing the house that had been set up away from the barracks for these two children, waiting for Elphaba Thropp. Apparently the green woman had the power to bring these two from the future to the present day.

Although, Mei Ling had been questioning a lot about what she believed in since she had arrived on the island, this was a bit much. She knew Elphaba was...special, but she highly doubted the woman had the ability to pull two children from the future.

What were their names? Mei Ling had a piece of paper, given to her by Ben with the names of the children Jacob wanted on it.

Aaron Littleton
Ji-Yeon Kwon

Mei Ling rolled her eyes, and put the paper back into her picket and began pacing again. She hoped Elphaba got here soon. The sooner everyone realized how insane this was, and that it wouldn't work - the better.

[That was teh suck. Sorry bb.]

[t'wasn't sucky at all. and woooo for another rambly post from me.]

Elphaba, umbrella grasped tightly within gloved hands, entire body swallowed within her black cloak, made her way through the jungle, occasionally glancing behind her to make sure she wasn't being followed. Not many of the people traveled out of doors during the torrential rainstorms. Elphaba especially hated being out in this sort of weather. But she had work to do. Ben commanded it. And he had many ways of persuading people to doing things.

Her expression was grim and her movements weary. She had just spent the entire night and half the morning performing the proper spells that would send her to and from this time and to the future. It was exhausting work performing the spells, all of which had to be done perfectly or else beware the consequences.

The two figures, also concealed beneath black cloaks, followed closely behind their captor. Their hands were clasped, both out of fear and Elphaba's demand that they not stray from her.

What what felt like hours to the Witch, the trio reached the secluded house in the jungle where Ben had indicated these children would be staying. Only a select few knew that these two were even here. Elphaba, of course, was the only one among them capable of traveling back through time. She hadn't even been sure she could even accomplish that, considering how weak she often felt. But, somehow, she had managed it. It had sapped nearly all of her strength, but it had been done, and she was greatly looking forward to a long rest once these brats were secured with their new caretaker.

Elphaba approached the door and knocked sharply, then glanced over her shoulder. "Remember, say nothing unless you are spoken to, and even then your voices should be kept at a reasonable tone. No one will come if you scream. No one will hear you." Had she not been so tired, the green woman might have been more sympathetic toward these kids. Then again, perhaps not.

She drummed her fingers impatiently on her hips as she waited for Mei Ling to answer the door.

Hearing the knock Mei Ling instantly made her way to the door, expecting Elphaba to be there, very much alone. So when she opened the door and saw the green woman standing there with two smaller figures, the normally ice cold woman's eyes nearly buldged out of her head.

"Are these..." she paused, still staring. "Do you really expect me to believe that..." she paused again, then moved to make room for Elphaba and the children?

"Is this really them?" Mei Ling asked, hands on her hips. "Ben isn't pulling some sort of joke is he?"

[Awwh, poor Ji-Aaron!]

Elphaba stepped inside. She jerked her head in the direction of two empty chairs positioned around the dining room table. "Sit," she said to the children, before turning to address Mei Ling.

"Kwon and Littleton, yes," the Witch confirmed, closing her umbrella. "It was surprisingly easy to find them, considering their surnames are so famous in the future."

Mei Ling arched an eyebrow as she watched the two head over for the chairs. She still wasn't 100% convinced yet, at least not now...and not that it mattered.

She pursed her lips for a moment before looking back at Elphaba.

"Any word on what Ben and Jacob actually have planned for these two?" she asked, her eyes drifting back over to them.

She wasn't one to openly question Ben or Jacob (if Jacob even existed), but this was a bit much for her.

She shook her head. "Ben only said to keep the two out of sight of everyone else. Only him, and you, and I are to know of them." She paused to take a breath. "That's the plan for the first month or so, at least."

"I'll be by every other day to give you a few hours away from the kids. Just long enough for the others to see you about and not get too suspicious as to where you've been."

Mei Ling nodded, adding a few points to the mental list regarding the children in her head. She puffed up her cheeks slightly, watching the two children before looking back at Elphaba.

"Right, sounds like a plan," she nodded running a hand through her hair.

"Do you have any idea on why he wants them?"

Elphaba shook her head. "Probably more of his crazy experiments. I'm actually curious as to how he found out about these two. According to Mikhail's files, Littleton's still pregnant - and Kwon, well, she hasn't even conceived yet." Her gaze slid back to the children, who were silently staring back. "It's a mystery, really."

Mei Ling nodded in agreement. "It is almost horrifying actually. The things Ben knows about us, and can obviously find out."

Mei Ling paused, there was an almost distant look in her eye for a moment...only a moment.

"Are their memories still intact?" she asked, watching the pair again.

She was fasintated by them already, even though she hadn't spoken to them yet.

"I suppose we should speak to them, shouldn't we?"

She inclined her head in agreement. Her hands twisted anxiously around the neck of her umbrella. When Mei Ling questioned her again, Elphaba, too, glanced back at the children. "I had to drug them both in order to get them to cooperate, and judging by the fact that they haven't even bothered to whisper to each other, I'm assuming the drug is still working. No telling how much longer it'll last, though. Once they recover, yes, their memories will be intact. I haven't been able to come up with a solution to that, though, even if Ben wanted it." She shrugged. "There's always the chains in the basement, if they try to escape."

She took a breath as she listened to the Asian woman's next question. Another shrug. "I suppose so. I'm really not eager to go back out in that storm, anyway."

Mei Ling glanced at Elphaba as if suddenly realizing how wet the woman (and the children) were.

"Of course," she nodded. "There are some dry cloths in my room if you want to borrow some. As for those two..." she glanced up at the two children again, briefly wondering what must have been going through their heads.

"There are cloths in their rooms as well. But...they are probably in no state to change, correct?"

Even as the woman shucked off her long black cloak, leaving the sleeves inside out so that the wet fabric never touched her skin, she shook her head. "I won't be staying long, I hope. The rains never last more than a few hours, at most." She hung her cloak on the hook by the door and set her umbrella up against the wall. Her gloves she shoved into the pocket of her cloak, but the hat she kept atop her head.

She paused to think about Mei Ling's next question. "I'm not sure, honestly. You can try and command them to go and change their clothes. They're capable of acting on simple commands."

"Right," Mei Ling nodded, not really looking forward to spend time alone with the two - hostages, she supposed they could be called.

"Simple, huh?" Mei Ling nodded. "Good because that's about all I can handle right now."

She made her way over to the "hostages" and bent down in front of them.

"Right. Key word here, simple," she said, already sounding as if she were addressing a team of FBI agents. "Nod if you understand, shake your head if you don't. So, do you understand?"

Aaron watched calmly as the Asian lady approached. It was odd to him that he wasn't afraid - not even of the creepy green lady who was still staring at them. He kept trying to recall the last thing that had happened to him before the green lady appeared, but it was all a blur.

When the Asian lady addressed them, Aaron's eyes flickered to look at the girl beside him, before returning to the woman. He swallowed, then nodded. Stranger still that he couldn't seem to find his voice.
