Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood:nervous
Entry tags:fiyero, razzle edwards

Who: Razzle & Fiyero
Where: Hydra Island; Room 12 (where Yero's being held prisoner)
When: Day Two; Early morning

Unfortunately for Razzle, it was her month to take food and provisions to a few of the prisoners Ben and his group had captured. The redhead had tried questioning Aldo and Tom and various other people, but none of them would tell her who these people were and why they were here.

Presumably this first one she was assigned to, a guy named - what was it? Feyera? Fetti? Some weird 'F' name. Anyway, presumably he was going to be a test subject, once he'd settled down a little more. Isabel had informed her that the man was experiencing some form of amnesia, and once he had his memories back, he'd be of more help to them. Or so Ben said.

Razzle didn't bother questiong Isabel. Not that she wasn't curious, but when Chana wasn't around, Razzle felt less than brave around the evil that was Isabel.

So, saddled with the job of taking food and clean clothing to prisoners, Razzle made her way down to Room 12, where the Feyera/Fetti/whatever guy was being held.

Coming to a stop at the door, the redhead offered a forced smile to the guard on duty, who stood and unlocked the door and pushed it open for her to enter. She did so without a word, brown eyes narrowing as she entered the dimly lit chamber.

The sound of the door slamming and bolting shut behind her made the young woman jump and her breath catch in her throat, but she recovered quickly when her eyes adjusted to the lack of light and focused on the man in the room.

"Good morning," the girl greeted him, attempting to sound friendly, her grip tightening on the tray in her hand and the change of clothes clutched under her arm.

Fiyero looked up at the woman who was standing there with his food. She was a pretty girl... Her voice sounded friendly. Or at least like an attempt at being friendly, so he smiled as best he could. "Good morning," he said, softly, warily watching her put the food in front of him.

He sighed, staring down at the food. He wasn't hungry. Moving bits around with his fork, he looked up at the woman. "Miss," he said, his eyes focused on her. "Why are they keeping me here? What is my crime?"

He couldn't remember everything. Truth was, if they had ever told him of a crime he'd committed, he wouldn't remember enough to deny it. But still, he wanted to know the purpose in his imprisonment.

She didn't blame him for not eating the food. If she'd been held captive, she doubted she'd be all too eager to eat strange food that might be poisoned. Not that this food was poisoned. Razzle may not have been that great of a cook, but she could do a simple enough meal.

Chewing on her bottom lip, Razzle lowered her eyes to the change of clothing in her hands. She didn't know how to respond to the man's question, and almost wished she did. She hated feeling like a pawn, feeling lost and having no answers herself.

Setting the clothing down on the small wooden table, the redhead finally lifted her eyes back to the prisoner.

"I'm sorry," the girl finally said. "I honestly don't know. I was just told to bring you food and clothes."

Watching him for a few moments, Razzle didn't really believe he was violent. Of course, even the gentlist-looking creature could be capable of the most bloodshed. Still, she didn't know what kept her from turning away and leaving the room. Something about the man seemed so sad. Maybe he would appreciate a bit of kindness?

"My name's Razzle. You're...?" She didn't want to offend him by pronouncing his name wrong. If he even bothered to answer her.

Fiyero smiled faintly. She seemed sincere, and he really appreciated that. He took a small nibble of the food, and looked at her again. "Well, I do appreciate your kindness," he said, giving her a kind nod.

He looked down at the blue diamond patterns on his hands. They were the only thing that he knew tied him to another place. He only wished he knew what place that was.

He looked up again at her question, a frown tugging at his lips. "My name is Fiyero." It was one of the few things he knew about himself.

She, too, stared at his hands. A strange yet beautiful pattern of blue diamonds were etched across the flesh, and the young woman wondered if it was some sort of tattoo or something. In spite of her curiosity, Razzle lacked the courage to ask.

When he lifted his head again, her eyes rested on his face. The simple response of his name was enough to ease the tension in her expression. She held back the urge to giggle at his name, knowing he probably wouldn't appreciate being laughed at. Still, she really had no right to remark, considering her own unusual name.

Instead, Razzle replied, "Do you know who brought you here, or when they brought you here?"

He sighed. "I'm pleased to meet you, Miss Razzle," he said, extending a blue-tattooed hand to shake her hand.

He shook his head in answer to her question. "I've no idea. In fact, it's taken quite some time for me to remember my name..."

He paused. "I also remember the color green..." He looked down at his hands again, trying to remember. "Blue diamonds on a green field..." he said, mostly to himself.

She hesitated, but reached out her hand to shake his. Her father would have most likely reprimanded her for touching a stranger, but... well, her father wasn't here right now. So she trusted her gut. If this guy turned out to be a murderer, well, at least she knew she'd die having tried to help someone.

Pushing aside those morbid and paranoid thoughts, Razzle focused on the man's words. She couldn't even imagine what Fiyero had been through to not remember anything.

Her brow furrowed at the mention of the color green. It was a strange thing to remember. Maybe he'd been rolling around a green field and bumped his head somehow? Or maybe he was celebrating St. Patrick's Day with some friends and had too much to drink? The possibilities were endless, really.

"Green?" She questioned, a small nervous laugh escaping her.

He smiled. Her small kindnesses brought him more happiness than he had felt since arriving at the island.

He shrugged at her question. "Honestly, I don't know why..." he said. "But there are very warm feelings when I think of the color green. A dark green..." He sighed, more to himself than to Razzle. "I wish I knew how to explain it. But I don't. I don't understand it." He shrugged.

"I'm sorry, Miss Razzle. You've been most kind, and I fear I am taking advantage of your kindness."

Razzle's brow twitched in curiosity as she listened to Fiyero speak. For some reason, the way he talked of the color green... it, well, it reminded her of Elphaba. From what she knew of the green lady, Elphaba had come here in sort of the same mysterious fashion as Fiyero had. The only difference was - she wasn't a prisoner. Anymore, at least.

Blinking, she pulled her attention back to Fiyero. His final words confused her. "I-I dunno what you mean." She didn't think at all that he was taking advantage of her kindness. His apology sort of unnerved her a bit, which was strange considering she had grown up in a small town, and most everyone was polite.

Fiyero watched her face, noting the curiousity that flitted across it as he spoke of green. Green was hard to explain. What it meant, why it was important... Especially when even he didn't completely remember.

He smiled. "Oh, I only meant that I'm quite sure you've other places to be... Other things to do than talk to an amnesiac prisoner." She was very kind, that was without doubt. "You are, of course, welcome to stay and continue our chat, but... If you have other things that need to be done, please... Don't let me keep you."

Her lips twitched into a small smile when he smiled. "Nope, nothing more important to do. You're the only prisoner I have to visit tod-" She clamped her mouth shut, realizing what she had just said. He probably wouldn't appreciate her reminding him that he's a prisoner. Ben definitely wouldn't appreciate it.

"The guard'll probably be in in a few minutes to make sure I'm okay, but other than that, I'm free to chat." She smiled warmly at him.

Pulling a chair out from the small table, Razzle sat down, folding her arms in front of her. "You know, this is gonna sound really bizarre, but there's this woman here, she works with us sometimes, and - I swear I'm not joking - she's green. Not green with envy, as that saying goes. But actually green. Her skin, everything's green. It's really quite pretty, actually." Biting her lip, Razzle nodded, her gaze sliding to the wall. When she glanced back at Fiyero, she said, "Maybe she can help you get your memories back."

He smiled when she tried to stop the words flowing from her mouth. "No, Miss Razzle, it's quite all right," he said, looking down at the jumpsuit he was wearing. "No need to pretend I'm not a prisoner."

He continued looking from Razzle to his hands, until the girl revealed the startling information that there was a green woman among them. "Are you quite serious?" he asked, convinced she was only teasing. Green skin? But when she said that the woman might be able to help him get his memories back, he nodded. Perhaps she could.

Razzle's smile turned a bit sympathetic. Though she was enjoying the polite conversation, the man's story (or lack thereof) made her sad.

"I'm serious," the redhead confirmed, bobbing her head. "As green as the greenest grass. I'll try and find her later and ask if she'll come and talk to you. She can be a bit cranky sometimes - well, most of the time - but she's really very nice - deep down."

Her smile made him sad. There was something about her that was sad... A part of her that had been hurt. He only wished he could help the girl.

She nodded emphatically, and as strange as it sounded, Fiyero believed her. He didn't think she was the type to lie. "Do you really think she would?" he asked. He just didn't know why someone would be interested in helping him remember. He was just a prisoner.

He smiled. "I do hope she's nice," he said. "It might not work out well for me if she wasn't."

"Well, I'm not sure," the girl admitted, "But I promise to do my best to convince her." Razzle paused, studying him for a moment, then added, "I can only imagine how it must be to not remember anything. I'd really like to help you."

Fiyero smiled at her. She was wonderful to be so helpful to him. "It's something that's hard to explain," he said. "I remember bits and pieces of my life." He sighed. "I went to a university... I was young and wild at heart..." He smirked just a little at vague memories of his younger years.

"Thank you so much for your help, Miss Razzle," he said.

Razzle tilted her head to one side as she listened to the man. She hoped Elphaba could help this man. And also hoped that whatever Ben had planned for him - it was nothing that would result in the man's death or torture.

"I'm happy to help," she responded nicely.

The sound of the bolt being pulled back on the door pulled Razzle's attention away from Fiyero. She looked over to see the guard's face peeking in.

"You done here, Raz?" He asked.

The redhead glanced back at Fiyero, her mouth hanging slightly open. She hesitated, then, "Yeah. Yeah, I'm coming." To Fiyero, "I, uh, guess I gotta go. I'll find Elphaba as soon as a I can."

She stood and pushed the chair in. "I'll see you at lunchtime, Fiyero."

Fiyero looked up as the guard entered. He smiled at Razzle. "Thank you, Razzle. I appreciate everything." He extended his hand to shake hers once again in a farewell.

"Tell Miss Elphaba I quite look forward to meeting her."

She offered a final grin and shook his hand. "I really hope she can help you," she said, before disappearing back out into the hallway.
