[scribblit] Donations cum staff twocorpses makes a post about how to donate money for the scribblit project. She also has a poll here to ask how staff accounts should be distinguished from regular accounts (if at all). It should be noted that all staff accounts are meant to be kept strictly for staff-related work (ie, that account is not for personal use at all). Go join in the poll and make your vote! |

Scribblit project So on top of having its servers based in Canada (further discussion here), the latest news on the scribblit project is that there's talk on asking for a system that allows you to unfriend yourself from friends' list when you unfriend them. General consensus seems to be that scribblit's going to be working on the ban_set model. ( Original post )Leave a comment @ LJ |

Status for twocorpses' project In http://twocorpses.livejournal.com/44540.html, twocorpses speaks more about her own project for fandom, scribblit. A decision has been made to make the site 18+ only so as to cover potential problems by having users under 18 accessing the site for 18+ material. Comment @ LJ |

age restrictions PS. Just for the record, I've set up another comm, fandom_fliesot for mirroring more useful posts on fandom_flies @ LJ but not related to the fandom exodus project, so if you're looking for posts which aren't here, try that comm, ok? Summary: atrata mentions the features post, brad is leaving 6A for greener pastures, and antennapedia's journal migration tool for Mac and Windows with python. She also discusses how her project could involve a code to lock out non-users and underaged users of the site. However, she has concerns about the impact that it will have on lurkers, citing this post by bottle_of_shine, which links to this one, by a lurker, gracecourage. the tentative plan Summary: Drama at LJ has once again made CNET and fandom_flies @ LJ is listed at the bottom of the page. atrata clarifies about project at fandom_flies and makes an ad for volunteers good with python and databases. Regarding the clarification, atrata states that the cost for the project is still uncertain, but she will not be taking money for the earlier stages of the project (the set up and beta test) or for the lawyer that she is going to get help from for the TOS. Things will be kept transparent, with feedback solicited. ( Mirrored post ) |

General post proving that InsaneJournal is not affiliated to Six Apart, and some general talk about mirroring the fandom_flies comm. Things get interesting later in the post, though, and I suggest you start reading from here( Original post ) |

Programmer's work pimping Mirrored from this post @ LJ. Basically seeking programmers familiar with LJ's code (and LJ archive, for that matter), to create a software to import/ export comments to LJ clones. Any takers? Leave a comment @ LJ( Original post ) |

pre-bed status report Mirrored from this postFirst, to answer a question that has been coming up: No, this is not going to be a for-profit venture. Non-profit yay. For-profit nay. fanarchive. It is not out of the question that they will tackle some kind of journaling service, but it's not first on their list. We are more than happy to work together, but I think if we're going to move on this, we need to do it sooner rather than later. ( Read more... ) |

Clarifications, and I love fandom. Again, post by the wonderful atrana at this LJ post.
I love fandom. I love that this comm has existed for a few hours and has almost 500 watchers. I love your ideas and your enthusiasm and your humour and your outrage. I just. What can I say? I love fandom.A few things keep coming up in the comments, so I think some clarifications are in order. ( Some questions and answers ) |

links and more thoughts Again, original post by atrata at this LJ post. Please direct comments there.
First, I totally think we can do this. If there's one thing fandom is good at, it's organizing. Second, some links. ( Read more... ) |
