some stuff

1. I went to the (female) doctor to complain about the Pill being a bitch with me and she's put me on a higher dose for the next three months. I'm not especially pleased about this, but I think I failed to explain myself properly (I always get tongue-tied around doctors). Also I'm convinced that birth control in general hates me (as in, implant didn't work and now I don't seem to be having much luck with the Pill. O BOY).

2. I am actually tempted to try an MMO. Yeah, you heard. This from the woman who isn't interested in MMOs. What is it? Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. Well, it's free (or So I Heard). I don't know. I might. I might not. Like I say, I'm not really interested in MMOs at all.

It looks pretty good, but I really dunno.

(Also Megaten is totally taking over my life. I don't care, though).

3. I was going to make Xmas cards this year. Now I am not so sure. EH.

4. Dear interbutts,

FUCK YOU. Levelling up is not the be all and end all of gaming. In fact, I've heard it said that the SMT games rely more on you exploiting elemental/non-elemental/whatever weaknesses rather than fucking grinding. Except what do allll the walkthroughs ever say? Level up.

UGH.

FUCK. YOU.

blah about P4 - may contain spoilers )

5. I should probably shut up now, right?

Advent 02

Okay, so this one sucks, but I have a lot on my plate this December so some of these will suck because I don't have time making them better.

Advent 01

It's the first of December, and you all know what that means, right? This is a continuation of #12 that I wrote last year. In other news, I got the Swine Flu vaccine last Friday, and I now feel fine, dad's still down for the count however.

Supernatural fics I wish someone would write

[info]bridgetmkennitt, you might want to not click the link until after you're done with your fic fest fics. :D

Random ideas are pretty womancentric, really. )

Maybe one of you will recognize them

So, cleaning out my purse for the first time in...a long time, I found two fic fragments, and I don't know if I ever typed them in/posted them, and in the case of the second, I can't remember which universe it was in, though it seems like something I should have talked about. (The first is clearly a sequel to the fic in which Angelo found Marcello in Pickham.)

So, behind the cut, two DQ8 snippets, and hopefully one of you can tell me where I was going with these... )

I think it's sad that I have to rely on other people to remember what the hell I've written, to be honest. But there you go.

[info]jazzymegster

In non-gaming related news, I dug out most of the Anita Blake books (1-10 because 11 and 12 are dross not as good from what I recall; also I'm missing 3 and 8, but I can request/get them from the library).

I've been meaning to re-read them because I can't remember anything about anything and I've only read them all once (the only exceptions being Blood Noir (library didn't get it) and Skin Trade. I had to stop with that because it basically made me want to vomit*).**

I was going to make a poll about if anyone wanted to hear what I had to say and then I thought, "Well, the three people reading this journal probably don't give a monkey's either way". And...I might not always remember to do it or get fed up. Or something.

As it stands, I am about ten pages into Guilty Pleasures (aka #1). I'm thinking of taking it on the bus with me tomorrow, but putting a post-it on the front that says something along the lines of "Stop judging me! I'm only reading it for the lulz!" But...that might not be so good of an idea. Also I might lose the post-it. And I don't tend to read so much on bus rides any more. And I doubt people on the bus give a shit, really (totally should've done this with Twilight, though).

By the way, you have [info]lkh_lashouts (on eljay) to thank for this because they all know waaaaaaaay more than me about, well, everything (there's times when I feel like a casual observer to all of this - it's not the first time, either. Happened with Farscape, happened with Hellblazer, too. Occasionally happens with other stuff as well - if I listed all the fandoms that happened in, we'd be here till Xm-- oh, wait. The next millennium, then). I don't know what I'm going to do with my newly re-discovered knowledge, though. Probably be snarky. I like to think I'm good at being snarky.

*Dear Laurell, going on about how manly Anita is and has to be so the police listen to her doesn't make for good reading. Seriously, if you're that bothered (and we know you are), why didn't you make her a damn man to begin with? Oh wait, 'cause then you wouldn't get to write bad IKEA porn, amirite? No love whatsoever, Me.

**Also this totally reminds me that I quit a lot sooner with the Merry Gentry books but, then again, they lost all semblance of plot a lot faster than the Anita books did. I stopped after #2. I tried with 3, and 4 just made me want to throw it across the room just from the opening page (not a good idea since I was in the library at the time).

The Interweave Store is having a sale

20% off downloadable patterns! So I broke down and finally bought the pattern for the Bacchus Socks I've been eyeing forever. Now I just need to convert the pattern to magic loop, since that appears to be the only way I like to knit socks. And get a 2mm circular needle.

i've climbed the stairway to maturity!

I think I am going to draw a fanart of the spacey girl and the errand boy from P4. Because they are sooooooo cute ♥

Meanwhile, spoilers. Also someone dumped a whole bunch of plot in my game today!

Oh, and! I have now maxed Yumi's link, and also Dojima's (I loved the final scene of that, it was so cool and adorable all at once). Stats maxed so far are: knowledge and expression. I am level four on courage and understanding. This is a whole heap better than my stats were in P3. Ooh, and I aced the last two exams!

I am one link off maxing both Yukiko's and Yosuke's links, so I'll probably be doing that some time soon (although my priority's on the current dungeon because it's upsetting and disturbing and I just want to get it over and done with.

Naturally, I requested Static Shock, and now I'm spreading the word in hopes this will reach someone who can actually write Static fic. :)

Because 4-H Lady was willing to brave Walmart at 5am

I now own a Philips MP3/video player*. So, does anyone know how I can get my various AVI files (and DVDs) into SMV format so I can take them places with me? Preferably a free way?

*And a pair of boots that are too narrow in the heel, so I'll have to return them. :(

Edit of SQUEE: I just realized I can now conveniently listen to podfics!

Well, I am nearly at the end of the Secret Lab dungeon now. I don't expect to beat the boss there first time because...well...that just won't happen. I am quite surprised that I haven't started to come across enemies who spam Hama and/or Mudo, although I kind of expect this boss to do that because I know spoilers.

I am probably tempting fate, right?

I have nearly maxed Yumi's link (thank fuck; it was getting depressing) and started Ai's (man, she is annoying. I've heard she gets better, but...I don't know as I believe it). I've got most of my team members up to level seven except for two (I am deliberately messing with the game to see who gets the Xmas date if two of the girls are on equal levels. On the other hand, I might have both of those maxed by Xmas anyway (I'm only in September)).

I have some awesome personae (none of whom I can remember the names of :( although I think I've got most of the angels so far and also most of the Indian goddesses *wonders if there is Kali and can't remember from P3*) Also I have gone fusion mad! But it means I have personae more akin to my level than the ones I am getting from shuffles. But at the moment I am lacking any who can use Garu for when I don't take Yosuke (I seem to be levelling everyone fairly evenly, which surprises me. Except Kanji, because he is AWESOME - so he's nearly the same level as the main character).

~*~

I should probably post this since it's been sitting here for nearly an hour and I haven't thought of anything else to say.

Delivered via timewarp

Somehow, the Friday the 13th DVDs I ordered on the 23rd, shipped on the 24th and arrived today. And they managed that with Super Saver shipping (because I'm cheap). Dude! :D

I thought the "Lewis Vendredi made a deal with the devil..." opening lasted through season two; I'm sad they cut it on the DVDs.

I wish Rashid had been in more than two episodes. He was awesome.

[info]dragovianknight

Present for myself

I pre-ordered Nox Arcana's Winter's Eve CD (and finally ordered Phantoms of the High Seas, too). Music to listen to through the new year! ^__^

Going to hell. Again.

You know that Christian side hug thing I linked to earlier? Well, my brain refuses to remember the actual lyrics, beyond, "Gimme that Christian side hug," but I'm earwormed by the beat...so I'm afraid I'm coming up with alternate rhymes for "side hug", like "self love" and "butt plug". I am quite sure this sullies the purity of their white boy gangsta rap about how they're such sexual deviants they can't even hug someone without being uncontrollably turned on.

My lyrics do make about as much sense. The last round went, "I'm a rough rider/with a Jesus butt plug/So gimme that Christian side hug/ 'cause I practice self love."

Edit: It dawns on me that apparently, Fundie boys are all Edward Cullen, terrified they will be overwhelmed by Bella Swan's outrageous flavor.* See what repression gets you?

*(tm cleolinda, IIRC)

I am making gifts this year

And you know, I love knitting, but this is a LOT of work (not to mention the OMG WON'T FINISH ON TIME! panic). It's kind of making me feel guilty for all the times I've asked to have something written/drawn/made for me, instead of just telling people to drop ten bucks on a gift card from Amazon or Knitpicks.

(On a related note, I have things for people from that meme at the start of the year, and I am SO FAILING at getting them packed up and mailed out. Bad Dragovian. Bad.)

[info]jazzymegster

"twenty tons of toad"

Things I need, part 396: a P4 icon (I've got some ideas - I just need to put the controller down and actually crack open the computer and do them).

Soooooo, Void Quest, eh?

I love that dungeon, but frustrating boss is frustrating. Also some other stuff; possible spoilers )

All of this is making me actually want to finish P3 (because I need to). It's kind of making me also want to play through The Answer, even though I do believe that is double concentrate Atlus Hard. Sigh.

[info]dragovianknight

Dear Jesus, did you mean for your followers to be insane?

The Christian Side Hug (Link goes to a YouTube video.) Tell me this is satire. Alternatively, write me the smuttiest hugging comment fics you can think of.

Edit: Links to commentary on Feministing and Feministe. (No, I don't read them, I just got linked to them. I pass along mostly for the "is it a parody or not" discussions.)

I don't know why I never thought to search Amazon for knitting stuff

Because I just got a set of 15 sizes of 6" bamboo DPNs - 5 of each size, so *math* 75 needles total - for $19.99 and $4.99 shipping. I would have preferred 5", which fits my rather small hands, but 6" should serve without tending to get caught on my sleeves like 7" do.

No, I don't expect these to be the highest quality needles ever at that price, but considering I rarely use DPNs because I prefer magic loop (I am working on slipper socks in magic loop! I AM ENJOYING THEM! I may get over my anti-sock bias!), I think these will serve just fine. And I can't argue with the price.

Then while I was there, I used a gift certificate to buy myself Friday the 13th: the series season two. Which netted me a $5 credit for Amazon Video On Demand. Which I may or may not use - I would have to watch at work since I don't have a fast enough connection to stream things here - but it's rather a nice thought, I guess.

[info]dragovianknight

Uh-HUH

So Amazon categorizes X-Files under "horror", but Friday the 13th: the series under "science fiction and fantasy". Allrighty then.

[info]jazzymegster

Also I finally finally cleared Void Quest, although it took its sweet time. More details when I feel less tired.
