But pushing on that trigger wouldn't get him anywhere right now, and whatever the deep-buried reason was, he wasn't sure he could deal with it. Pushing somewhere else, maybe... He'd made her laugh, and then he'd wasted his chance to ask when she was relaxed and easy. But maybe he'd distracted her enough that he could get an answer.
