It had been a long week. Apparently all of the teachers decided to get together and each schedule an exam during the same week. That way, anyone who was taking senior-level classes would have to study each and every night for three exams, read an entire English novel, write a three-page essay in German, and prepare a major project for art class all in the same week.

Not that he didn't enjoy it. No, Jason was one of those gluttons for punishment who found himself excited by the prospect of an intellectual challenge, and the more work he had to do, the more at home he felt.

Of course, not being able to see Caleb for four days sucked. Still, they made up for it in the little time they had together.

And then there was Halden. He really did miss hanging out with his best friend. Sure, he loved being with Caleb and making out on the bed, but it was also nice to be around someone he could really open up to.

Jason sighed. At least the week was over. He had tonight to recover, and then tomorrow, he'd find Caleb and do something between his work and Caleb's work.

He pulled off his sweatshirt and tossed it on the bed, then went to go sit at his computer desk.

Halden was wandering sitting in his room trying to sleep he had 1 or 2 courses with seniors and those alone wore him out. Way to go French and Chemistry.

Though the actual seniors were riled up for the weekend and consequently drunk. Blaring rap of all things from the upperfloors. This would not have been so bad if Halden hadn't been pressured by 3 seniors in the past hour and a half to join them. Of course his answer was no about 35 times per drunk senior.

Finally giving up he texted Jason. Hey the seniors here are overly rowdy and drunk any way I can chill at your place till they all pass out?

	Of course. Come on over. Jason texted back. He turned on the old computer he had borrowed from Mr. Dixon and waited for Windows NT to load. It wasn't the greatest, but at least he could check his email and do research on the web. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Thanks be there in a few. Halden walked over across the campus in a few minutes it took. He tiptoed up the stairs to Jason's room. It was the scholars dorm and not all of them were as understanding as Jason. He knocked on Jason's door. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Jason picked up a t-shirt and pulled it on as he went to the door. "Hey," he said, smiling at Halden, "How's things?"

He moved out of the way so Halden could come into his room, then moved over to take his seat again at the desk. The other chair was over closer to the bed and had Jason's pajamas slung over the back. "Sorry, um, you can just move that if you want."

He walked in, "Ugh horrid they're blaring rap and I was trying to sleep and now I can't because of this headache."

Halden walked over to his usual chair, took Jason's pj's off of it and tossed them on the bed. He sighed, "Enough of my bitching. How're you? The teachers didn't ware you down to death did they?" He turned the chair around and startled it facing Jason.

"Heh... you know me. I loved every minute of it. There was this one point on the Physics test where we had an essay-type question, and she wanted us to write out a speculation as to what our predictions would be regarding this rocket, a new type of fuel, and a launch on a clear evening. Well, I went ahead and answered for what they were looking for - it was a simple equation, and I even went so far as to predict where the debris would land - and then I went on for another three paragraphs on how unstable this new type of fuel was, and how they could get a better mix if they increased the oxygen in the traditional fuels. It's really just a matter of plotting out sequences and figuring the formula from there."

Jason went on for another minute or so, explaining how his sequences could solve these problems better than the formulas in the books before he noticed that Halden was looking at him kind of funny.

"Um, yeah, so anyway. It was alright." His mouth quirked up on one side in a half-smile. "Did you get dinner yet?"

	He smiled as Jason rambled on about his equations which probably made perfect sense to someone from NASA and probably never thought of. Jason was a genius like that. "No I haven't. 	"Nope. I just got back from the library. Had to return some books, and I got kind of distracted by the new science journals that had just come out." Jason stretched back, and turned his head to the side, popping his neck vertebrae. "Want to go down to the Falconer and get some pizza or a burger or something?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He nodded the library was one of Jason's usual places, "Sure I'm a bit hungry." Halden wondered if this would be awkward or not. It was fairly late and they were going out to eat at the first place they met. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Nothing. I'm fine," Jason said. He forced a smile. "Just thinking about a few things." When the waiter came by, Jason ordered a cheese pizza for the two of them and a pitcher of Coke. 	Halden glowered and kicked Jason lightly in the shin, "Whats wrong...?" he asked a bit more concerned. He scoffed, "Back to hell? Never..." he twinged mentally when home was brought back up.
