Who: JJ, James, some Scott, whoever else wants to join in What: JJ is working on a new piece When: Tuesday evening Where: The art room Status: Incomplete, Open Rating: PG-13 for some boy-kissing
JJ sat, flipping through the pages of some left-over magazines, scissors in hand. The objective seemed simple enough, to make something out of scraps of something else. Something that could contrast the meaning of the individual images and fragments, or could unite them. It was vastly different from his usual style of art, his usual way of simply translating to the page whatever he saw. This one made him search deeper, look at things on a whole other level. He did that with certain drawings. The one he'd given Scott for his birthday, the one he'd drawn of Ella were his two best and his two favorites. Those had been more than inspiration, they had been real expression. But he couldn't just pretend to draw that kind of inspiration from some superficial pictures of beautiful celebrities in handsome tuxedos and beautiful ball gowns. With a sigh, he leaned back, deciding to go about this all another way and perhaps come up with a concept first.
He was alone in the large, bright room, except for Mr. Cooper, who was sitting at his desk looking through other students' assignments painstakingly. JJ had a lot of respect for the man. He was really a wonderful teacher, and he'd grown to be one of the few members of the faculty JJ trusted fully. Of course, it couldn't hurt that the younger boy was still harboring quite a crush on his professor. His eyes seemed to drift, searching the room, hoping for some kind of sign.
