"I have to at least try, Rena. I- I've thought she was dead for ten years, and now, to find out she's not- it must mean something. I can't just- just ignore it, no matter how well I've tried to do without her."
Thomas reached a hand forward, placing it over Rena's hand in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. "I'm glad you are here, Rena," he said, simply. "I don't mean that to be patronizing- you've done more for me than I ever could have asked or expected, and I am grateful. Abby's return doesn't change how much you mean to me- or to Bridget- I hope you know that."
