Something wasn't right, at least, in Rena's estimation it wasn't. Of course, it would have helped if she'd been around when Bridget was born. It seemed like Abigail had walked out of town just before Rena had walked in and, thus, Rena hadn't had the chance to know her or to know how her relationship with Thomas had progressed and ultimately, ended. Still, it seemed really strange that she happened to disappear right around the time Bridget was born. What had Thomas been doing and what had happened to the child's mother? She'd never asked, not with her own secrets to carry, but now it seemed so important, so relevant.
And yet, Bridget seemed to be happily oblivious that such things were happening around her, things that clearly had her at the center of them. Perhaps it was better if she remained oblivious, at least for the moment, at least until everything made sense and Rena had the opportunity to have some sort of discussion with Thomas, however reluctant he might be!
Bridget's words afforded Abby another look, one that sought her reaction to the fact that Bridget clearly thought Abigail didn't know her father at all. "Well, Bridget, perhaps you should tell your father he needs to get out and about more," she teased with forced levity, tearing her gaze away from Abigail and down toward Bridget.
