Before leaving Adelle had stood outside Madame Besoir's office door for a few moments, debating whether she should knock or not. Adelle had been awake for an hour and had dressed and eaten breakfast already. However, being as she wasn't sure when she'd be returning to the brothel, she had a slight urge to, well, get a hug goodbye. The Madame would undoubtedly just be getting up, and which meant Adelle wouldn't anger her by rousing her from her sleep or anything. In fact, the Madame was usually in a very good mood in the mornings, making her much more likely to be receptive to signs of affection.
In the end, Adelle did not knock, and instead hauled her luggage into the wagon carrying straw and ale. She plopped down onto the straw and was taken aback when the wagon lurched forward suddenly. It was as if the driver didn't even care that she was there!
Within moments, however, she was distracted by the scene of Greenville flashing before her slowly. Wide-eyed and fascinated, she watched the dark village pass by, the store fronts beckoning her closer. Oh, what she wouldn't give to stop and take a look inside them for awhile. Some of the girls had been outside of the brothel many times, especially Abby, but the Madame had always kept Adelle so close.
Excitement stirred inside her during the long ride towards the castle. To think, she'd be living in the castle! Imagine all the things she'd get to see! The people she'd get to meet! She'd miss the other girls terribly, but who cares about that when there's a castle to dream about!
When she arrived, Adelle slid off the back of the wagon and landed clumsily on the ground. She dared not look up for fear she would faint at the very sight of the imposing building before her. The castle of Frell. She was still daydreaming about it as she tried to drag her bag off a mound of straw. With a loud grunt she fell promptly upon her bottom and her bag went flying in the other direction. Her cheeks burned bright red as she noticed a pair of undergarments fall out of the luggage. This was not how she imagined her arrival to be.
