The game was a simple one called Alouette, which- as the dealer explained, seemingly for Genevieve's benefit- consisted basically of taking turns around the table setting cards down, and whoever had the highest won. Then, whoever won the most rounds when cards were exhausted, won the money.
The game was soon in play, with rounds going quickly. Julius, however, didn't seem to be faring quite so well- he'd only won one round so far.
