It wasn't as though it was unlike Genevieve to dream; Penny knew her sister to be as much a dreamer as she herself. No, that was not unusual at all. It was, however, unlike Genevieve to be so idle and distracted. Genevieve always tended to have some purpose about her, even when she was doing something she didn't particularly enjoy.
Perhaps not everyone would have caught the difference in Genevieve but Penny couldn't have missed it. The distraction was glaringly obvious to her, being that Gen was her twin sister. Despite their differences, know one could read Genevieve quite like Penny could and there was no mistaking that something was bothering Gen. Not one to interfere, Penny had said nothing at first, waiting first to see if it would pass and then to see if her sister would come speak to her first.
When neither occurred she decided it was time to bring it up herself. While Gen did have a tendency toward being dramatic, she knew it wasn't like her to dwell on something for so long a time.
Penny had been in the garden as well, working on her needlepoint with her dog seated at her feet. She could see Genevieve from where she sat but her twin hadn't seemed to notice her in her distraction though she was in plain sight. When Gen restlessly rose from her seat, Penny set her needlepoint down and moved to follow her sister, Lucky getting up to follow at her heel.
"Gen," Penny called out to her sister, lifting her skirts slightly and picking up her pace to close the gap between them. "Wait for me!"
