Since Vaan wasn't able to sleep and take his mind off of things, and since his conversation with Thomas the night before had lasted a good two hours, he was actually fairly nervous about going to get Gabrielle for their walk. There was a lot to think about, both about the girl and about his dealings with the King, and Vaan was beginning to wonder if his head might explode. He was wearing clothes that were a bit more casual for Vaan, and had a bag slung over his shoulder to put the Cling Beetle wings and Elder Beech bark in. It was a beautiful sunny morning and perfect for going out.
Coming up the walk his usual concerned expression melted when he saw Gabrielle and his lips tugged up in a smile. "Gabby!" he was still floating a few inches off the ground when she came in for a hug and just as she wrapped her arms around him he came back down to the dirt floor. He would have to practice giving hugs, he just wasn't used to them, but he gladly encircled her with his own arms. "I'm wonderful," he replied holding her at arm's length, "And how are you?"
He was excited to give her the news that his party had been delayed a few more days, but decided he would wait to tell her when they were out in the forest. He also wanted to take her flying, but didn't know if that would be a smart decision. A few of his closer friends from the Citadel had told him that womenfolk loved to fly, but seeing as none of them had successfully wooed any women Vaan was going to try things his own way. "Shall we?" he asked, holding out the crook of his arm to the young lady next to him, a wide smile upon his lips.
