Penny's cheeks colored a bit at the statement, realizing that the only one of her little trio that wasn't still trembling was Lucky, though he was a bit more reserved with his joy at being reunited with Penny because of the stranger. He wasn't fierce by any stretch of the imagination but he was protective and he was still gauging the situation. While Gareth soothed the mare, Penny patted the dog, assuring him that everything was fine.
Once Gareth turned to offer her a bow, Penny instinctively dipped slightly in polite acknowledgment. "My name is Penny Brisbois," she introduced, using her nickname as she always did. Despite the fact that it was probably more polite to use her full first name, to her, Penelope was her mother's name, not hers. "I live just outside of town," she explained, indicating in the general direction she had come. Despite her nerves, she was still polite, something ingrained in her since birth and in a way, it made it easier for her to regain her composure. She wasn't certain if she should declare what it was her father did or if the announcement of her name would be sufficient. Well, she'd have to see.
