She looked awfully unsettled, and he couldn't blame her. A spooked horse was far from fun and it took a very skilled rider to calm the beast before things turned nasty. Fortunately, from here at least, it looked as though she was just a little scared and no one was hurt. The corner of his mouth tugged up into a half smile and he nodded, "Looks like she's not the only one spooked."
He walked up to the horse and made soft shh-ing noises, trying to sooth the animal, and from a small satchel at his hip he produced a handful of oats, allowing the mare to nibble at the soft food. Gareth gave the horse a soft pat on the neck and smoothed out it's mane. "I'm Gareth," he then bent down into an anything but graceful bow, "My family owns the Herb Shop in Greenville. D'you live around here?" She certainly wasn't as financially challenged as his family was according to her clothes. He wondered if maybe she was royalty.
