Gareth noticed she was going to lead the mare rather than ride her, which was probably for the best, and opted to ride slower, keeping an even pace with the girl. Glancing down at her he smiled and wondered how long she'd been riding or if she got out and around much. From what Ginger had said, those who lived in the castle - upper class folk - didn't do much in terms of hard labor or adventuring, which Gareth thought to be rather sad.
"Its well known around here, Thomas is a great inn keep and the cooks there are unmatched," he said with a smile, "D'you get to come into town much? I haven't seen you around..."
He chuckled, Lucky was an appropriate name, "I like it. It fits him." He tugged off a piece of bread from the biscuit in his satchel and tossed it to the pup. He listened to her talk and nodded at the right moments, giving her a smile here and there. "She's beautiful," Gareth reached a hand out to pat her mane and neck, "A wonderful creature." Moving to pet his own steed he grinned, "This is Eroth, he's a Bay Stallion. I've had him since I was a kid, but he's still a good horse." Eroth was his best friend. He wondered if the girl was as attached as he was to her animals.
