Gen seemed quite disinterested in the young man and Penny shot her a look. After all, she might not be living a fine society life anymore but that certainly didn't mean she shouldn't have manners.
"Please excuse my sister," Penny said quietly. "I am not sure what has gotten into her. She seems to be in something of a mood and has been quite insistent that we not stop but keep going. She keeps saying we're so close but we've been walking ever so far. I feel quite turned around," she confessed. She wasn't sure what had gotten into Gen but it was making her nervous; clearly something was wrong.
"We should go," Gen insisted, emerging from the mist enough to grasp Penny's wrist. "Don't trust him."
