Penny shrugged her shoulders. "My father rarely has much to say about what I do, though he did reiterate my mother's concern for my safety. They didn't expect me to disappear overnight, that is for certain. I suppose I can't blame them for worrying," she conceded. The snow had been unexpected, after all, and she likely would have made it back without anyone noticing if it hadn't snowed quite so much.
Matt's stammered response did little for Penny's embarrassment and she averted her eyes a moment. "I enjoyed them - I mean enjoy them as well!" she promised, her eyes lifting. "I just thought you might think of less of me, the way I behaved, I just..." Penny wasn't sure what to say and she was rather sure she wanted to sink into the ground at that particular moment.
