Era bit her lip and tried not to open her mouth again. This was just so horribly awkward. All she had wanted was to talk to Penny and find out if the woman had found her horse safely and if she could maybe tell her more about where to find books here in the village. But she couldn't do any of those things without revealing her own identity. So she merely fell into step behind the woman, standing perhaps a bit too close as fear of the other villages tugged at her.
"Oh," Era's eyes fell to her arm, needing to look anywhere but at Penny. Her actions had been stupidly reckless, and she was shamed by their consequences. The dragon took a sudden interest in the grass at her feet.
Like a child admitting some great sin, her voice was small. "I'm alright. It just hurts as all. But Emi says it should heal properly. So I don't think it's that bad." Out of guilt, she downplayed her own vexation. "I believe I shall be more careful of trees though."
