It was hard to imagine Thomas not wanting to see anyone. In fact, Rena was almost certain there was no one she'd ever met that he hadn't welcomed into the pub. After all, he had not only taken her in as a bedraggled sixteen year old, wet and dirty off the street. She wanted to insist that she was certain that there couldn't possibly be hard feelings.
But Rena was no stranger to having a complicated past and there were many things she knew she would rather not be forced to face and it was that piece of her that held back her instinct to draw the other woman inside. If her parents had been in that room, or even her sisters, she would have had to be dragged in. All of these thoughts still swirling in her mind, Rena could only nod.
"If that's what you want," she offered softly. She wouldn't ask; she'd respect that history just as she appreciated it when others respected her own need to keep things close to herself.
