Rena shook her head and laughed. "Those are kind words for someone who hardly knows me," she commented, though she appreciated the gesture all the same. Even if their meeting was a strange one in Rena's opinion, Abigail seemed like a nice person.
The comment about time passing quickly struck such a chord though with her own reflections that she paused a moment, tilting her head in thought as she regarded Abby. "I'm sorry," she apologized once she realized how awkward her pause was, though she punctuated the apology with a soft chuckle. "It's just I was thinking the same thing. It's hard to believe it's been that long. I am not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that time flies so quickly." On the one hand, watching Bridget grow up had been a joy but on the other, she had missed her younger sisters growing to adulthood. She wondered what they were like now and what they thought of her for taking off on them. It made her feel slightly wistful, thinking about it.
