"I've worked here about ten years," Rena replied, pausing only a moment before answering to make sure she was remembering correctly. But it was easy to figure out; she'd been around as long as Bridget and the girl was ten years old. Funny, in a way, because that was exactly how old Rena's youngest sister had been when she'd left. She shook away the unexpected wave of nostalgia, reminding herself that it was neither the time nor the place for such sentiments.
Rena offered a slight smile, shrugging to explain the sudden shift. "It's amazing it's been that long," she offered by way of explanation. "I'm lucky no one's gotten sick of me," she joked, laughing to ward away the past.
