Rena sensed that something was making Abby uncomfortable by the way she seemed uneasily shifting, glancing about nervously. She wondered if something was the matter but having asked twice, she didn't want to ask again. Perhaps there was a bat or something flying about that was making her uneasy; a girl alone at night might be made nervous by any number of things. When she first spent a night in the woods, every little sound and movement had terrified her, causing her to get little rest.
The question, and the surprise in Abby's voice, amused Rena slightly, making her all the more curious who this stranger was. Something about her seemed familiar with the place and yet, if she was, she'd certainly know her. After all, she'd worked there for the better part of ten years. Rena nodded her head to answer the question. "Yes," she said aloud, laughing softly. "It's a good thing Thomas is a good man because if he didn't have as much patience as he does, I'd have been out of a job years ago!" she admitted with a sheepish grin.
