It didn't help that Emi was still an un-assessed threat. And her tone reminded Era of some of the run-ins she had had with other dragons. Ones she did not want to repeat. Add to that the fact that the more she thought of 'Edgar' and how very defenseless she was, the more panicked Era became. Even to the point of begging.

I've no claws, no fire, no tail! I can't defend myself. Put me back before he can get me, please!" Era was near hysterical. The hunter had grown in her mind until he was a looming threat. She did not trust him to keep his word.
Tears started tracking down her face. She had been through a lot recently. This was just too overwhelming right now. She curled in on herself - knees to chest and arms tucked in tight. Era rocked back and forth.
