"Who were these people?" she choked out. "That they could do something so... so terrible! And live with it!" She was heartbroken, for the men who had lost their lives, for her cousin who had to endure it all, but she was also angry. For one of the first times, she felt what it was like to really really dislike some people. It was her anger that held back the tears. It was a glimpse of the ugly world "out there." However, she reminded herself that these men - whoever they were - had families too, were people... it was hard... harder to see them as heartless murderers now.
