It wasn't the homecoming he had expected or wanted, but Owen was glad to be home none the less. He felt weighed down by the enormity of what had happened, of what there was still to do, but for now- well, for now, at least, he would perhaps just let himself breathe.
When Princess Evangeline embraced him, Owen staggered back at first, if only from surprise- though he quickly braced himself and returned the embrace, if not quite as enthusiastically as she was. "Thank you, your highness," he replied, stepping back with a nodded greeting. "It is good to be home." This, at least, was true.
