Edric could not argue with that point, Era the dragon was right. But at least she had shown no inclination of killing him, for which he was grateful. He needed to be more careful in the future, if he indeed survived. He did not want to let Rosalie know about this either, she would worry even if he was not mauled by the dragon; it was better to leave her in the dark about this, he decided. It was the wisest choice.
The dragon’s request was met with a jaw-drop and wide-eyed stare. It was a surprise to say the least. Edric had not expected a dragon, a beast that was nearly immortal according to tales, would want to hear a story. Surely such an old being would have heard a great deal of stories, and he was quite sure he would not have heard of most. Edric cleared his throat, weighing his options.
“I am not a storyteller, I’m not sure I have any stories that would interest you.” It was another complete truth.
