Edric just stared back, trying to seem harmless and stupid. He had been mistaken more than once as being a dumb brute with more brawn than brains, especially by some of the knights who thought that they were better than him because of their lineage and breeding. It disgusted him.
Had he known Era better, Edric might have not been scheming like so. But he was told to believe that dragons were gold-hoarding beasts who slew innocent men and women, and it was that mindset that had stuck. One could not change one's opinion of an entire race or species based on one simple conversation after all from one individual.
Even if the dragon seemed to be civil, Edric was still not convinced. For all he knew it could be playing with him, luring him into a false sense of security. Although why it would want to do that was an enigma. Thinking carefully, he decided to co-operate, make it lower its guard a little.
"I hope you won't kill me. Rosalie would be most displeased and saddened by my death. She needs someone to care for her. What do you have in mind?"
