"I... You... you are quite large," Penny observed lamely, though if she thought a moment she might have considered the fact that she would likely have expected to a dragon to be somewhat larger than the one she currently encountered. In fact, nothing about this encounter was going as she might have expected, but then, she hadn't really expected to be in a situation such as this.
Penny took a deep breath, considering what the dragon was saying as calmly as she could. "I... never saw a... a dragon before. I... I confess I'm not sure what to expect," she said, her voice breathy and wavering. She didn't want to suggest that she feared the dragon would eat her for even in her addled state she was reluctant to seem as though she were suggesting such a thing, particularly since the creature had made no indication that it had such intentions.
The fact that the dragon was so focused on the fact that Penny was alone was both troubling and intriguing. Why in all of Frell did it seem concerned? Was this some sort of ploy?
"I... I was not lost. I was going for a ride and... and I think you may have... you may have spooked my horse and she took off," she finally stammered, not wanting to confess to her sister's whereabouts so she left that bit out of the story.
