Era paused lapping when she heard some sort of a racket being made not too far from her location. Her head swiveled on her long neck towards the noise. She couldn’t see anything. Whatever was going on was not that close. But perhaps it would prove interesting. Era’s lithe body turned with serpentine grace as she trotted off in the direction the sound had come from.
Part of the problem was that she didn’t know at just what height she should be directing her attention. So her gaze was caught up in the tree branches when she stumbled across the human. Era reared – wings outstretched - and hopped a few steps backwards to avoid treading on the poor thing. Steam poured forth from her nostrils, expressing the surprise she felt. Oh! Era tilted her head and settled all four legs back on to the ground. “Are you alright?” She wondered if this one could talk. They were supposed to be able to talk.
