"Marvelous!" Penny replied with enthusiasm, pleased that she would be having tea with a friend. It had been awhile since she'd had tea with Gabby and generally speaking, it was Gabby with whom she had tea if she wasn't at home with her parents. She certainly had never had tea with a gentleman before, at least not without her parents present. She certainly was having all sorts of new experiences! "Thank you, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and I am glad to be well again, too. My mother was absolutely terrified I'd come down with the Grey Death and we were all very much relieved that didn't happen." Of course, that went without saying but it was a very real fear these days, particularly since the king had passed away. If the royal family wasn't exempt, surely nobody was.
Penny blushed yet again at Matt's reaction. "It is rather unbelievable, isn't it? I almost can't believe it happened myself," she confessed. "But it was her, once she said her name I recognized her. And she was alone. I sort of wonder if she doesn't like to sneak out like I do, though I would think it's a much bigger deal when she does it."
