Edric really did not know what to do. He felt that he should at least let a healer see to her, in case her injuries were not as light as she claimed them to be. But...it was quite obvious that the lady did not want to go see one. He thought that she might be used to a family physician of sorts, and was reluctant to be treated by anyone else. It was a dilemma indeed.
Finally, he decided that it would be better if he respected the lady’s wishes. He held out a calloused hand to help her up, in the most gentlemanly fashion. “If you really feel as strongly as you do about being treated...then I would not be as rude as to force you into anything.” He said to Angie, “Let me help you up.” He really didn’t care if he would need to pay for the healer’s fees, it was not as important as a lady’s wellbeing. But that wasn’t a problem if she did not want to see one anyway.
Edric, did not for one second, actually believe that Angie had been separated from her lady-in-waiting. He saw through her lie easily, but he disregarded it. She was most probably a rebellious girl who had wandered out to town on her own. “It’s fine. The furs aren’t important.” He gave her a grin, she really was a good person if she still thought of his furs when she was hurt like so.
