"There will be time later for any and all loss of composure," Gabrielle admitted with a faint smile. "Please do not think me callous, or that I do not care-- nothing could be further from the truth. I've just- I suppose I don't quite want to believe it yet." She fell quiet for a moment, lost in her thoughts.
"You know," she started a moment later. "I had thought that I would feel it if something were to happen to him. That somehow I would just know. But I suppose I was wrong."
