Penny couldn't help but admire the easy way Gen handled the basket and the laundry, things that seemed so foreign to Penny. When she thought about it, she wasn't even sure where the staff at home aired their own laundry, a thought that made Penny wonder with a touch of guilt. It had to be someplace out of sight since she knew her mother wouldn't want to actually see the laundry out to dry but it had to dry somewhere didn't it?
But it was silly to worry over such things, Penny reminded herself, shaking her head and she was quickly distracted by a sudden movement. "Oh!" Penny gasped in surprise as she realized that it was a litter of kittens, small and furry and scurrying eagerly in their direction. "Oh, Gen, the kittens!" she exclaimed. She had, of course, heard of the litter of kittens her twin had adopted when she had visited but she still was surprised by their sudden appearance and her heart immediately melted at the sight of them. "They're simply precious!" she breathed.
