Who: Penny and Gen
Where: Gen and Julius's home
When: late morning
What: Penny makes a long-awaited visit to her sister's new home.
It had been far too long since Penny had a proper visit with her sister and Penny was determined to change that. The weather was getting cooler by the day and Penny knew that once winter set in, it would be harder and harder to visit. So, given the opportunity of a nice day and occupied parents (they would never let her journey alone, after all), she decided to take the opportunity to visit her sister.
She got directions from Julius in the stable when she went to fetch her mare and she wrote them down despite his assurances that she would have no trouble finding the place. Equipped with the directions and a pie she had managed to talk out of the cook in the kitchen, she set off on her journey.
There was something thrilling about going somewhere she had never been before, the way the town of Greenville had seemed so new and strange when she first went. Of course, with that came the usual nervousness that a young lady like Penny always seemed to have when entering a new situation. Fortunately for her, the ride was pleasant and not as long as she feared. Though the fall air was crisp, the sun was shining and the only sounds were the birds and crunch of autumn leaves under Copper's hooves. Penny found herself singing softly to herself as she rode, looking forward to the visit even more than she anticipated as she grew nearer.
As promised, the Whitton home came into view before she knew it and Penny couldn't help but urge her mare into a canter so that she might arrive sooner.
"Gen!" she called out as she neared, excitement in her voice. "Gen, I've come for a visit!"
