The pond had never looked ominous to Rena's eyes before. It had always been there, softly lapping, innocuous and irrelevant to her. Now it seemed vaguely threatening, the idea of swimming bringing back a slew of memories Rena wouldn't have minded not having to relive. It seemed strange to Rena that Molly would move so easily toward the water, step into it without a care but she knew it was her fear bringing up those thoughts as she had put her own feet in the water before without difficulty.
"It is a lovely day," Rena couldn't help but agree, appreciating that Molly was being gentle in her approach. Rena shifted her weight before kicking off her own shoes. "Should I take my skirt off?" she asked, trying to hide the reluctance that came with nerves, both with the whole swimming adventure and with being in her undergarments in front of another person.
