Rena smiled, nodding to acknowledge Abby's admission. "I feel like they have that affect on people," she commented with some amusement. It was likely that was why the pub had been so successful; everyone felt welcome and Thomas never turned away a person in need. Rena, and other staff members, had so much to be grateful for.
"She has a gift," Rena said without reservation. "I can only hope that whatever happens to her in her life that she holds on to that because there are not many people in the world like her." She couldn't help the affection she felt for the child and knowing that Abby, stepping in at this point, saw it too, made her feel grateful she had been there, a part of that world. "I know she is glad to have you in her life again."
