Rena nodded, biting her lip as Abby alluded to the fact that others were not as lucky. It was true and Rena could appreciate that as there were many times during her journey that things could have gone very differently. She was very fortunate to even have survived her crazy escape she had made so many years ago. "Your parents sent you away?" she asked once what Abby said sunk in. Even her parents, who Rena was convinced didn't even really like her that much, wouldn't have just sent her away except into a marriage, where they knew she would be taken care of.
"It was meant to be you, the nice lady with the beautiful children," Rena replied with a soft laugh. "I can't even imagine myself in that position, to be honest with you." She shook her head, knowing that even still she wouldn't feel comfortable letting anyone close to her. With so much to hide, she would feel like she was lying.
