"Thomas," Rena corrected at his insistence, laughing. She was familiar with this transgression and it was almost comical now, after their initial battle over what they would call each other. It had taken Rena some time to acclimate herself to calling him by his first name and it had been awkward at first. Still, she did like being called by her first name. At least, the name she had adopted for herself. It was refreshingly casual, particularly compared to the frustratingly impersonal 'my lady'.
Rena took a drink from her water, letting the thought linger for a moment. "And if you start calling me Miss Summers again, I might have to pretend not to hear you," she teased. "I think I'll call a truce, Thomas."
