Icons of Love!

I cannot remember the last time I was able to sit down and watch SVU and just relax. These past few weeks have been dedicated to putting the final touches on the album which means shooting the cover and all of the album work, as well as doing promotion and launch parties, as well as promoting and shooting the video for the first single. This is considered the fun stuff and in a way, it is. I enjoy the traveling doing the television shows and just seeing my fans and gauging their reactions to the album. So far the overall reception of it has been positive, although, it will be released officially until the week after Thanksgiving. It's still a little surreal that its finally finished. Two years of arguing with the studio heads, long nights at the studio, producer after producer...it all comes down to these few tracks, which, I happen to think is my best work. It's a little different from what people are used to hearing and I know those who are expecting another Umbrella probably won't know what to do with this cd. But I can't continue to stay stuck, as an artist, I want to be able to explore different options. And that's what I did. Don't get me wrong there are some club bangers on there; a few songs that will make the radio happy. But the subjects go deeper than what I've been talking about before. Hopefully it goes over well. As I said, reception has been for the most part positive. Russian Roulette is number one on iTunes, both the song and the video, so I mean so far so good. We'll have to see what happens when the Rated R is released.

The holidays are coming up and I have a ton of shopping to do. I'm also very happy that I'm finished shooting the promo pics because I plan on being a total cow this Thanksgiving and pretty much indulging in whatever...because I'll more than likely work off all of the calories when I go shopping the following morning. I love the holiday. This would be a good time to leave your present wishes, people, i'm just sayin. I have to call my parents to make sure they got all of their flight information together. I guess I should go and relax because on Friday its back to work. I'll performing at the AMA's, so I've gotta be on my shit. I think I need a nice glass of Moscato. Sounds good.
