Meanwhile, Buffy is back from the dead and depressed after being torn from heaven by her friends. Together they start a relationship of sorts. Today I went shopping, for food and neccesary items. My family doesn't do the Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping sprees. One, you have to wake up at ungodly hours stay outside for hours on end to get into the store and fight with people to get what you want. Two, we don't have a lot of money. Three, none of us have X-Mas gift lists let alone bought the gifts yet.

I've been working off and on on my paper. I put in a few more lines. I'm not sure how I'm going to finish 10 more pages of this. *sighs* I don't hate the subject...but I'm just not feeling it in me to write this. Too much is going on in my life. It's cold, I have other school work, my mom's arm is really bothering her - we think she broke it/tore a tendon a few months ago when she fell - Adam is bitching about his job, the whole John factor, money, India, the economy, me having no income and being too busy to work, my brother having surgery in two weeks, the holidays, war, etc...

I'm just not focused on this stupid paper. And it's due Friday. In fact today I mailed off 70+ pages of paper which was my six sources for my paper to my professor.


John, Adam's brother, and my step-uncle? got his results back from all the exams he took. He still hasn't taken any chemo yet. The cancer that was in his back has now spread to his shoulders. He's absolutely terrified about the chemo and being sick and dying. *sighs*

Oh and it's confirmed Madam Sectretary Clinton. I think she will be really good at that.

Also, did any of ya'll know that the U.S. warned India of possible terrorist attacks by sea on hotels and specifically mentioned the Taj Hotel, back in October of this year?! ...heads are going to roll on this one.

In other news. I officially give up the search for rares. I can't get them. I tried for like 10+ hours to get a damn Autumn dragon egg. Nothing, nada. Not even a split or dino.

I'm competing with too many people and I have too slow a connection and I don't know what to do. So I'm giving up.

TEXAS is out of the Big 12 Title game because Okalahoma beat them out by 1 f*cking point that was decided by a goddamn computer and the Coach's polls!

The Sooners (11-1), who lost to Texas 45-35 in October, barely edged the Longhorns. Oklahoma has a .9351 BCS average. Texas’ BCS average is .9223.

Oklahoma was a point ahead of Texas in the USA Today coaches’ poll and six points behind the Longhorns in the Harris Interactive. The computer ratings preferred the Sooners and that made the difference.

How many f*cking years are we going to have this problem? A tie being decided by polls and a f*cking computer to decide the championship games?!!

TEXAS beat both Oklahoma and Missouri and yet it's not the team that's going to the Big 12 Championship Game. Oh no, Oklahoma, whom Texas beat 45-35 - smirks in joy at the rememberance of her mother's screams, whom is an OU fan, during the game - is going to play MISSOURI for the Big 12 Title Game!!

Missouri is a pissant team compared to Texas and Oklahoma. This is practically guaranteeing Oklahoma to play Alabama for the BCS Championship Game!!!!

That's not fair!!!! Texas beat Oklahoma fair and square!!!

Texas was the better team! And the only reason Oklahoma is going to the damn Title game is because they ran up the score on Texas Tech and OSU!!! They just had to put that f*cking touchdown against OSU last night in the last 20 seconds of the game when they were already up 2 f*cking touchdowns!!!

Those goddamn Sooner bastards!!

Why can't we just have a playoffs system?!
All the other NCAA sports have one.

IT'S NOT F*CKING FAIR!!!!

...you know if the Sooners lose to Missouri then it's TEXAS that goes to the BCS Championship Game.

If Oklahoma had beaten TEXAS or the it's wasn't such a close 3-way tie...I would be happy for OU since I root for them too. But this? F*ck 'em.

My step-brother got arrested, again.

He ran a red light and the cops ran his license and discovered, shock all shocks, that he has warrants out for his arrest. So he's in jail. And, since we only paid one year in his surcharge to keep his license by paying the fines, we have to add another $300/3 years to that. Because the damn dumbass didn't go for this whole freaking year to sit out his fine for 3 1/2 to 4 days in JAIL!!! And Adam, my step-dad and the breadwinner for this family, will have to pay it. AGAIN! I hope they leave his ass in there.

All of this is because he won't pay the fine that he got for driving without state inspection stickers and insurance. So he has warrants out for his arrest.

I'm guessing his girlfriend and mother of his child wasn't with him since she would be in jail with his ass. She has more warrants out for her arrest than he does.

Are they ever going to get their act together? They already lost custody of their kids.

*sighs*

In good news, saw Four Christmases today, me and mom liked it. Btw, did you know that Dwight Yoakum and Tim McGraw are in the film? Can you spot them without being told who they were?

Oh and in interesting news. In the first quarter of the OU/OSU game one of the announcers made a very slashy comment. He was talking about how the qb was looking to throw his pass, noticed there was no one and tried to run it, only to get his ass blitzed and pushed back like five or so yards. "His drunk buddies left him and he was naked out there."

Okay it's not slashy, but it was certainly a wtf?! moment. ;d

Okay, so since Pushing Daisies is being canceled but coming back in comic book form. I'm thinking that if we, the fans, make the comic book series a success they might bring them back for a movie. Kinda like how Firefly came back as Serenity. ;d In the meantime, the People's Choice Awards are up for voting, and if we, the fans, join the site and vote, we might be able to vote PD as a winner. And how badly will that look to ABC to cancel a PCA winning show?

Btw, Dirty Sexy Money is the only ABC show that did not get renewed that has not released its cast. So they might be able to bring back that show.

My paper is going really slow. It's stuck at 7 pages and that last is just a bunch of sentence starters and concluding paragraph starters for me to fill out. I'm thinking of doing a couple of block quotes...but I already have two and I'm worried about weakening my paper by doing that so often... But then again I need to make the 15 page quota.

Typically, I'm good at writing papers...but this semester...it's just been hell. I think three classes a semester is a bit much. Grad school is just so much harder than undergrad.

Broccoli Books (Broccoli International USA), a US manga publishing company is going out of business. The Japanese company, Broccoli Japan, is pulling out of the U.S. To be honest isn't that big a shock VIZ and Tokyopop have enormous catalogs of manga. The things is, this company picked up some unknown titles and had excellent customer service.

Tokyopop is legendary for the rude way they treat people who try to get published by them and the way they butcher some titles and the editing and so forth... This was a good but small company. What a shame.

I've read a couple of the series from Broccoli, Kamui and E's and then there is the new Yaoi division, Boysenberry. I'm unsure what happens to that since the yaoi division is a place to make to money. There's four books out and I'm going to buy those. I don't want to have to pay triple the price when the supplies fall short.

The good news is that the licenses will be allowed to be sold to other companies if they want and they will provide work they've done for it. Otherwise, the titles revert back to the Japanese. And I guess that means scan groups can go back to working on favorites if no U.S. company picks them up.

Also, no word on Drama Queen. I want them succeed so I can my porn...but damn they've been circling the drain for a while now.

Yesterday, after getting back from the hospital we went to H-E-B and got some food and x-mas cards.

This is my first year sending off X-Mas cards, so anyone who wants one just leave a comment, I'll screen the comments.

p.s. I'm up to six seven pages on my paper. So yay.

Bad day today. I got no work done on my paper.

My step-dad's brother went to the Hospital today for tests. He has Prostate cancer, we've known that for a year now, last year he opted out of chemo and got shots instead. Tomorrow he starts chemo. Adam couldn't be there today so me and mom went along with his mother-in-law. We were there off and on for five hours.

Oh and Eli Stone, Dirty Sex Money, and Pushing Daisies, have in effect been canceled. ABC is going to air the last 13 episodes but no new season has been ordered. Of course, if the viewership somehow dramatically increased or something, we might be able to save them.

Good news is that the tales of Ned and Chuck will continue on in comic book form.

Oh and my eldest brother - the career navy guy - is technically going to be in the Terminator 4 movie, he was a consultant/extra and he tommorrow he will be working with George Clooney and Ewan McGregor on the new film Men Who Stare At Goats, he's an extra there as well. A bunch of military guys are extras in war movies because A) they know what to do and B) they usually bring their own outfits.

Oh and maybe my nephew has found a cure for cancer. He's an undergrad pre-med student in a community college and he is giving a presentation to three big fancy research doctors who flew in to see it. ...so that's cool. What's uncool is that he is facing possible eviction from his mom's home because he roommates moved out and his mom wants to either rent the place or sell it. Also, he doesn't have a car, his ex-wife has it and the car company refuses to drop one of their names from the note. Poor guy. He nearly died earlier this year, a couple of time actually, his wife leaves him, he starts college, and now this. Hopefully he will get some roommates and be able to stay there. He's been accepted to three universities that he plan's to transfer to to continue his pre-med education.

Update. I'm up to four pages, technically five if I can tweat the last paragraph from a bunch of rambling gibberish into a coherent and structured paragraph.

This is difficult. I keep re-working and adding to my previous stuff, two huge block quotes, and that's so far how I got my four pages. The good news is that I think it, the paper overall, is making more sense.

Btw, I'm having a brain fart, what's the word that means you are inventive and a hard worker? I can't remember how to spell it, this is the closest I get "entraupenal," and the spell checker can't help me.

I can't stay away...from posting to my journal. I still haven't looked at my flist. ;d

So, yesterday was horrible. I don't know if I jinxed myself by writing Comfort Food or not, but I was Harry yesterday. Friday night adam came home mad and angry and was pitching fits. He had spent time with both his sons. AJ the druggie, is still upset over losing custody of the kids (cps took the kids away), but doesn't want to really do anything about it. He and his druggie gf (mother of his child and the reason he is a druggie instead of a successful painter) had rented/leased a big screen tv from Rent-a-Center and they are now calling adam about it being overdue. *sighs* Bill, the good kid, he and his wife (who's a nurse) make a combined amount totaling in the six figures a year (~ 100k). Both of his kids are asking for money. And that just pissed adam off even more than his work did earlier and he took it out on mom.

One of the things that ticked him off was worry about paying AJ's surcharge to the state of Texas to keep his license (it's a way of paying your fines) because AJ has numerously been pulled over and given tickets for no insurance. He also has a habit of refusing to pay the damn fines so he gets warrants out for his arrest.

Anyways, one moment I'm fine and then the stress of the situation gets to me and I'm shaking and shivering. It's like I have the flu. I couldn't tell if I was actually sick with the flu or the stress of finals and the paper and the fear of adam leaving mom (he's threatened to do so numerous times) got to me. All I know is that I felt miserable and I got maybe three to four hours sleep.

I got up to work on my paper but I didn't get much sleep, couldn't eat (I had maybe 13 carrots and that was it for the day, everything else made naseous), and drinking water parched my throat. I still feel like I have a fever. I got maybe one page done all day. Most of the time I was just trying to focus on things because I couldn't sleep, I was tired, I wasn't hungry but I was and nothing I did made me feel any better. I was miserable and to top it off I'm worried about my paper.

I finally collapsed sometime during the Texas Tech vs Oklahoma game. I got up at six am. I'm still cold, but I'm eating again, so that's good. I got up to two pages now on my paper. I'm having such a hard time on it because I never got to read the whole book... I just got bogged down with my school work in my other classes and English was put on the back burner. A B, in this class will make me very happy because a C equates to a D and is considered failing.

To my lovely friends I'm going on hiatus.

I got a major 15-18 page research paper due on the 5th of December. I'm going to have two assignments next week for my last week of class. I have three final essays due on the following week after my paper is due.

I need to get my ass to work and get this paper at least half-way started before next week.

So for all major instances that happen, I won't know, I won't be checking up on my flist and I may not even post at all on my journal.

This is the crunch time and I need to get it done.

Dr. Phil will be discussing Prop 8 on his show today.

And so it begins.

Lawsuits move the Prop 8 case to Cali Supreme Court. I'm not sure how to feel about this. It's wonderful that it's going forward...but I'm so afraid that they will rule in favor of Prop 8. Could they possibly appeal it to the Supreme Court if that happens?

I have two more regular weeks of classes and then finals...
I'm trying to get these two done so I can work on English.

I have had an epiphany.

Holy smokes, I just realized that I have two assignment weeks left before finals hits.

I'm working on Ethics and IDS right now and I'm planning on getting some of my English out of the way and working on my Research paper this weekend.

I beg you, keep me in your thoughts. I realized one important thing this semester, it is not possible for me to pursue a Masters level degree solely in English...not without taking it REALLY slow. After this I have two to three more English classes plus more in IDS and I need to talk with my planner to plan out my degree plan and see if I move 18 credits for my Publishing degree into the IDS slot in my IDS degree. If so I can shave off about year off the degree plan. If not...well shit, I will be thirty before I get my degree.

P.S. I don't have another essay this week. It was the wrong assignment. I just have readings and a two paragraph write-up, like usual. YAY!

My cousin is in emergency surgery.

When she had her baby a few years ago, the hospital gave her MRSA, and her son got it when she breastfed him. For the past two weeks she has gone to the ER and been sent home with them doing nothing. Four visits in two weeks and in all that time they never did a blood test. She and her son, Logan, have tested negative for the past year, but still her leg and hip is swollen and they never did any tests. Not a MRI, not a blood test, nothing.

Grandma told her to make a fuss, to go to another ER, or something. Chea, my cousin, went to the family lady doctor and she called up a hosptial doc to take her in. Because when she saw her doctor she took a needle and drew out some blood and said it wasn't good.

The ER doc put her into surgery and their praying that the infection isn't in her bone.

No word as of yet how she is doing.

I'm on way out because there is a buy one get one half-off book sale at Walden's/Borders and I'm going to buy me some yaoi manga.

ETA Surgery was success, they cleaned out the wound and it seems they found no sign of MRSA? *is unsure about this part*

ETA Met Mike at the mall...seems like he would be a good guy to hang out with...not interested in.
